In this age of instant news, voters often look to social media to gauge their candidate’s reaction to hot-button issues. If you were curious as to how this year’s crop of presidential candidates responded to the horrific shootings at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, then look no further. Below are the tweets and posts of most of the major candidates, and boy do they speak volumes.
Let’s start with the Democratic candidates:
Today and every day, we #StandWithPP. https://t.co/oifqTQLx1X
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) November 27, 2015
I strongly support Planned Parenthood and its work and hope people realize that bitter rhetoric can have unintended consequences.
— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) November 28, 2015
In addition, Sanders also issued a statement via his Twitter feed.
Now let’s take a look at the Republicans:

I’ll reverse the failed Obama/Clinton foreign policy. Read my new op-ed in New Hampshire’s @ConMonitorNews: https://t.co/LJrl1Bmpy7 — Jeb Bush (@JebBush) November 28, 2015
The reporter who pulled-back from his 14 year old never retracted story is having fun. I don’t know what he looks like and don’t know him! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 28, 2015
Republican leaders should make ending Obamacare bailouts one of our highest priorities to end this year. https://t.co/lBxB9Bx1bM — Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) November 27, 2015
Texas Senator Ted Cruz appears to be the only Republican candidate to directly address the shootings.
Praying for the loved ones of those killed, those injured & first responders who bravely got the situation under control in Colorado Springs — Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) November 28, 2015
Ben Carson was out of the country and off his Twitter account. Who knows what gem he’s going to come up with when he returns? I am sure it will have something to do with political correctness.
If you needed any more proof that the Republican Party (and its candidates) don’t care about anything but themselves, then consider this an early Christmas present.
