Living legend Meryl Streep was given a beautiful tribute for her lifetime of work in Hollywood, but used the opportunity to send a powerful message to America instead of congratulating herself.
With millions watching, Streep took the stage to accept a Lifetime Achievement award at the Golden Globes and laid out a concise, brutal indictment of the Trump campaign’s appeal to hatred, fear, and bigotry to get Donald Trump elected.

Streep took no prisoners:
“This instinct to humiliate, when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others - we all lose.”
Gee, I wonder which belligerent bully she could be referring to?
