Donald Trump just flailed, slapping at the Pope, and punched himself square in the beak. Washington Post Political Editor Rebecca Sinderbrand did us all a huge favor and put a snapshot of Trump’s raging hypocrisy on Twitter, it is quickly going viral.

Trump, while attempting to appear wounded and resolute in his defense of Christianity, framing himself as a Christian leader, made the following statement in rebuttal to Pope Francis recent comments questioning whether a Christian could be a Christian and act like the bombastic tycoon.
No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith.
When you look at the statements made in the past by Donald Trump, especially as they relate to Ted Cruz, well, that whole “Christian leader” thing he is trying to accomplish for himself accidentally exposed some tar-thick and raw sewage nasty hypocrisy.

Check out Sinderbrand’s brilliant, and damning tweet:
Here's Donald Trump today, on the pope.

The irony is thick, and the reality stark, here. There is no hiding it, there is no weaseling out of it, it is what it is. Of course Trump’s zombie Tea Party/neo-Nazi following is trying to poo-poo and debunk the tweet, with pretty bad results. What he did prove, however, is that he and Cruz are far more similar than either would like to admit.
@RollTide061077 @sinderbrand The point is Trump is literally making it up as he goes along, and can't even stay in line with his own words.

@ARepublic He said "especially" not a religious leader. But "no leaders" is as blanket a statement as you get. Definitely both apples.

The simple fact is, another part of Trump’s self-aggrandizing defense against the Pope got people’s attention too:
@sinderbrand Apparently Trump doesn't believe in freedom of speech. "No man should have the right…to question…"

Not that Trump’s supporters will care, as one Tweeter put it, “no one ignores reality like a Trump supporter.”
@davewil13 @sinderbrand @guypbenson sure. But nobody ignores reality like Trump supporters.
