Mary Lou Bruner, who is running for the Texas State Board of Education, appears to be the embodiment of every lunatic Tea Party troll you have ever encountered on the interwebs.
Before she locked down her Facebook to prevent voters from getting even more proof that she does not even science or reality, it was discovered by the Texas Tribune that she believes that Obama is gay, and was a prostitute to support his drug habit.
Despite her defiant claim to the Texas Tribune that she is not ashamed of anything that she has said, she has made her Facebook private. She did so before screenshots were taken of the other posts that explored her beliefs, such as, “Evolution is a religious philosophy with propaganda supporting the religion of Atheism,” and that there is scientific evidence (that is being ignored) that dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth together, and that it never rained before the (unsubstantiated) Biblical flood.
However, she is still active in many groups, where this screenshot came from:
Bruner, in fact, has written about the extinction of dinosaurs. “When the flood waters subsided and rushed into the oceans there was no vegetation on the earth because the earth had been covered with water. . . . The dinosaurs on [Noah’s ark] may have been babies and not able to reproduce. . . . After the flood, the few remaining Behemoths and Leviathans may have become extinct because there was not enough vegetation on earth for them to survive to reproductive age.”
Meanwhile, “Climate change has nothing to do with weather or climate, it’s all about system change from capitalism (free enterprise) to Socialism-Communism. The Climate Change HOAX was Karl Marx’s idea. It took time to ‘condition’ the people so they would believe such a HOAX!”
This mental gymnast is a former teacher herself, but apparently ignored everything about reality and facts in favor of myth and conjecture. Nothing that she touches, with her apparent philosophy of shoving her head way up Ken Ham’s butt while hand-jobbing Ayn Rand and Glenn Beck, could possibly be good for the children that will use the textbooks and curriculum that she would approve.
Bruner is running on the promise that she, “will do everything I possibly can to make sure our public school students are taught the traditional knowledge and skills that have made America the world leader.” Unfortunately, what she thinks is “traditional knowledge” would most likely trap our children in a country unable to keep up with the rest of the world.
