We recently reported on the trials and tribulations of a Buffalo businessman and Trump supporting would-be politician named Carl Paladino who just can’t seem to stop himself from going on insanely violent, racist rants.
Paladino was asked what he “wished for 2017” – a cutesy puff piece meant to elicit answers like “world peace,” “prosperity,” or “good health,” instead the Buffalo businessman-turned-politician made it about wishing death to Obama.
He told a magazine that he hoped President Obama died from “mad cow disease” and that Michelle Obama “return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.”
Trump has yet to speak out against one of his biggest supporters or his despicable comments, but his team has said they disavow him. It is perhaps for that reason that Paladino, who once threatened to murder a Republican delegate who didn’t support Trump, found the strength within him to give a heartfelt, sincere apologize.
Just kidding. His “apology” was equally insane - and not a real apology.
Paladino statement being read on WBEN: "I never intended to hurt the minority community … to them I apologize."

BUT, Paladino says he didn't mean to send comments to ArtVoice. Meant to forward his responses to friends but hit reply by mistake

So Paladino would have us believe that he is not a racist simply because the vicious, disgusting comments he said about Michelle Obama were meant to be sent only to his racist friends and not intended to be public. Does that make it better?
His apology is also hollow because he announced that despite calls from many New Yorkers (including the governor) he will not step down from his role on the Buffalo school board.
Paladino says he WILL NOT leave the Buffalo school board. Caps off with "I am certainly not a racist. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."

It’s hard to imagine what Paladino thinks qualifies someone to be a racist if he isn’t one. Telling the first African American First Lady of the United States that she should be sent to Africa and live with gorillas sure seems to check a lot of the boxes. Simply shouting “I’m not a racist! Christmas! New Year!” doesn’t cut it.
Needless to say, nobody is buying this crap.
