Can you imagine what would have happened if Obama’s first act as President of the United States had been to take the weekend off? Angry conservatives everywhere would have immediately called for his impeachment! Which actually, I guess they did anyway, but still! No doubt Trump will be immune to this reaction, though, because in the eyes of the deplorables, Cheeto Hitler does no wrong.
During an interview with The Times of London, Trump said:
“Day one – which I will consider to be Monday as opposed to Friday or Saturday. Right? I mean my day one is gonna be Monday because I don’t want to be signing and get it mixed up with lots of celebration.”
In other words, Trump anticipates so much partying after his inauguration, that he will need an entire two days to recover. Two days in which we can expect self-congratulating tweets instead of anything presidential to come out of the White House.
As you might expect, Twitter did NOT hold back after hearing this news:
Trump is taking the weekend off.
I suppose he’ll need time to heal once the Bible bursts into flame after places his hand on it.#resist

So Trump thinks that his first day in office is Monday.
He’s taking the weekend off. This bodes well…— Talia (@2020fight) January 17, 2017

Since Trump is taking the weekend off… who is President this weekend?

Hmm… That’s a good question!
But @MariaBustillos makes an excellent point:
I can’t believe y’all are complaining about Trump taking the weekend off; he should take *all* the days off.

We should be so lucky!
