Mother Jones recently did a piece on that time in 2008 in which lizard king and 2016 GOP Candidate Ted Cruz defended a bill banning sex toys. When it was discovered that such a ban would clearly violate the Supreme Court decision, Lawrence v. Texas, a ruling that struck down the anti-sodomy laws in the state, here’s how Cruz’s legal team shot back:
There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship.
Aren’t you so glad that our tax dollars aren’t being wasted on frivolous matters, like infrastructure and combating climate change?
Cruz’s argument was utterly absurd and totally without any legal merit. And apparently he has realized that as he has now confirmed in a radio interview that he has no intention of banning them.
Let’s see if Ted Cruz’s Christian hypocrisy will not rear its ugly head for once.
