Mike Huckabee Wastes No Time Being A Complete A-Hole After San Bernardino Shooting (VIDEO)

Mike Huckabee really has a knack for saying the most disgusting thing possible at the worst time. The Huckabee campaign tweeted out for prayers for the victims and survivors of the nearly 30 people shot in San Bernardino, California today. But, while suspects were still on the loose and blood running in the streets, Huckabee turned to reporters on the ground in Iowa and blamed two things for today’s shooting. “One: A mentally unstable person. Two: A gun-free zone. And those seem to be the common denominators.”

“I don’t know if that’s the case in San Bernardino but if it turns out to be it’ll be one more horrible tragedy that we’ll have to grieve through as a country,” Huckabee continued.

Digital Journalist Alan He from CBS News is on the ground in Iowa and tweeted out the full statement

This isn’t the first time Huckabee has blamed gun-free zones for a mass shooting. After the UCC shooting in October Huckabee tweeted

A Pew Research Center survey from July shows 88 percent of Americans “favor expanding background checks, up slightly from the 81 percent of Americans who supported the measure in May 2013.” Pew went on, writing “currently, 50 percent say it is more important to control gun ownership while 47 percent say it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns.” So, Huckabee isn’t exactly the voice of reason to mainstream America when it comes to weapons.

President Barack Obama, by contrast, told CBS News something entirely different. According to him, there can be individuals on the “No Fly List” for being suspected of some form of sketchy activity, but that person can turn around and buy a semi-automatic weapon in any gun store in America.

“We don’t yet know what the motives of the shooters are but what we do know is that there are steps we can take to make Americans safer,” Obama continued. “We should never think that this is just something that just happens in the ordinary course of events because it doesn’t happen with the same frequency in other countries.”

The contrast is stark. One statement is presidential while the other is dripping with NRA talking points and insensitivity. Huckabee is truly a repulsive human being.

    One: Mentally unstable person.
Two: the ability for a mentally unstable person to buy as many guns as his little heart desires.
Three: military grade armor piercing ammo - woo-who party time baby!!!!!

  • mattdl says:

In a country of 310 million people and just as many guns - there is no such thing as a gun free zone.

dear mr. Huckabee and your minions,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Carson Mcclinton says:

Huckabee, is A piece of washed up slime, with A following of idiots , the same as he is!

  • Chris Mc says:

Mike Huckabee released a violent offender who came to Washington and murdered 4 well armed police officers in a coffee shop in the Tacoma area. Do I need to say anything else?

  • Marc Looney says:

Huckabee is about as useful as used charmin.

  • amy says:

Can’t wait until the primaries start, most of these guys lose and then just go away.

    • Susan says:

the Huckster and the rest of the outright loons will very likely disappear shortly after IA. Thant is the usual pattern. Keyes did that as did Robertson, neither did over 3% in the Republican Caucus but had had good polling numbers.

  • Dorinda Pla Hayes says:

What a complete freaking idiot. These people with these mind sets are destroying this nation. All we can hope for anymore is to not be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • Craig Rothschiller says:

The answer is obviously arming all citizens, against their will or not, and expecting them to protect themselves from all other arms wielding individuals. The best part of this is if I’m having a bad day, I can just go out and shoot whoever happens to tick me off. When a society allows everybody to be armed, regardless of their mental stability, we are much safer, right?

  • Joe Langella says:

Nothing like trying to politicize a tragedy isn’t that right Sarah.
The first words out of Obama’s mouth was our hearts and prayers go out to these victims and family.
Pretty much the same thing Huckabee said.
The next thing he said is more gun control
    Huckabee gun free zones.
Both are valid are they not?
I don’t see anyone chastising the NY news for their headline god isn’t fixing this?
That’s a slap in the face even to all those victims that were still inside asking people to pray.
The double standard has to stop
And pointing fingers at just one political group is itself a tragedy because it seems whoever does it is more interested in gaining political leverage than sympathy for the victims and their families.
And both sides are doing it it’s not exclusively one party is it?

    • centgeorgiaboy says:

no pal you are equating the responses from the two parties- dems are saying we have to stop this madness AND there are things that we can do- you repubs have perverted the 2nd along with the NRA and you are saying that there is nothing that we can do- oh yes except to ensure that more people have more guns - the 2nd is not sacrosanct- we can modify it in DC if the repubs had any courage at all-doing everything in their power to be re-elected is the ONLY thing that matters to you repubs

  • DH234 says:

One group says something should be done, at least make an attempt….the other says, do nothing….things are good the way they are…no such thing as gun free zones….Huckabee is pulling at straws trying to keep his campaign in view is all, when all you got is making the other guy look bad without something to make you look good…you’ve already lost.

  • Kelly Basden says:

Mike, you left out oxygen, gravity and daylight. Yeah, those were present as well.

    • marytg says:

Kelly if your out with your family or friends and some nut comes in and starts to shoot. You lose 5 member of your family. I am not against hand guns. No one need automatic weapons. Or you have kids in school and you lose 2 children to guns

  • Willard says:

I’m not sure of what the options are, so maybe someone with a little constitutional knowledge can chip in, is there a way the people can begin the repeal of the second amendment?

    • Michael Corliss says:

There is no way 37 states will ratify a repeal.

But it’s not necessary. Despite the very loud screaming coming from the NRA, the second amendment is just as susceptible to reasonable regulation as the first. You can’t yell fire in a crowded theater, and we can decide that you must have a screening and training, REAL training, before having access to a gun. It is only the NRA’s opinion that these violate the amendment ; sane, rational people know they don’t.

      • Willard says:

Thanks. I also found the information I wanted. It has to be initiated by legislatures or Congress. Citizen initiatives were not an option’

  • isworem says:

    SUCH a putz …….

  • Thom Lee says:

Not fair. When you are an A-hole all you need to do is be. For the rest of us, when we think acting like one is necessary. We have to work at it.

  • Ricardo Rebelo says:

How come nobody on this rag is comenting on how the shooters were muslims on a mission? Prepared and ready, as the Police said? And was this on a gun free zone or not?! Simple questions libturds

  • Janelle Tyree says:

The R rhetoric now calls mass murders “mentally unstable”. Bullshit. Mentally ill means your dog told you to do it. Thoughtful, long term planning for murders is fueled by hate. Those guys are usually pumped up by preachers screaming hate. Now about a hundred guys will respond that these murderers aren’t Christian, Muslim or whatever. Look around the Internet.
