Shut The F*ck Up, Ammosexuals: This Study Proves The ‘Good Guy With A Gun’ Is A Mythical Creature

Last night nine people were murdered in a South Carolina church, and the gun nuts are already making their rounds on social networking sites claiming it could have been stopped if only there was a “good guy with a gun” in the church. Every single time there is a mass shooting in America, the ammosexuals crawl out of the woodwork like cockroaches on a hot southern night and spew this unfounded crap. Well as it turns out (unsurprisingly) the whole “good guy with a gun” is a mythical creature, according to a new study.

The study released on Wednesday by the Violence Policy Center found that this mythical being is never around when you need him. Researchers found that there were only 258 justifiable homicides involving firearms in 2012, compared to 8,342 murders by gun. As a matter of fact, the fictional savior only appears 0.01 percent of the time.

It is actually far more likely that an ammosexual will injure themselves or someone they love in an accidental shooting than it is that they would save the day. Twenty-two thousand people die in accidental shootings or use their guns to kill themselves each year. In recent years, we have seen a number of mass shootings in all sorts of places and not one time was the shooter stopped by a Second Amendment, gun loving “good guy”. In 2012, TWENTY children were killed, and gun nuts still clung to the “good guy” nonsense.

The executive director of the Violence Policy Center, Josh Sugarmann, says his group’s study completely disproves the right-wing rhetoric:

The NRA has staked its entire agenda on the claim that guns are necessary for self-defense, but this gun industry propaganda has no basis in fact. Guns are far more likely to be used in a homicide than in a justifiable homicide by a private citizen. In fact, a gun is far more likely to be stolen than used in self-defense.

The Gun Owners of America claims that the “good guy with a gun” has saved the day millions of times- 2.5 million times to be exact.

Even though ammoexuals and the NRA know that they are repeating a lie, they continue to spread it. They know that their vapid followers will soak it in and run out to buy more penis extensions. That’s really what it’s all about: making money for gun manufacturers, not saving lives.

It makes me sick that so many people close their eyes and cover their ears when they are being told the reality of what is going on with guns in this country. No other advanced country has as many gun deaths as the United States, but no other country worships the gun lobby quite like ours. It is truly disgusting. Nine more Americans died last night, in a church, and the right-wing will blame everything in the world just to avoid talking about gun safety.

‘Murica!

Wow! I gotta look up this new word ‘Ammosexuals’! Gun nuts are now called Ammosexuals. Good to know! Gonna use that word on my gun loving friends.

    • Turkeyguy

The terms “gun nut” and “ammosexuals” are used only by those who are mentally deficient or “assholes”. Don’t be suckered into using them.

      • Theoldlady

Sorry, am using it now. Every time they post a photo of their new gun and brag about learning to use it, I ask them that. They do not even know what the word means. So I am going to explain it to them.

Hmmmm, interesting. So, your argument is that the “good guy with the gun” is a myth just because gun murders outpace justifiable gun homicides? The problem with this assertion is that defensive gun use only very rarely end in the death of the assailant. Most of the time the perp lives, and in even more of these cases the gun isn’t even fired. Your argument is so disingenuous as to be entirely dishonest. Shame on you libturds. Fair-minded people see right through your crappy argument, no wonder you’re losing this argument so badly.

And how quickly we forget what happens when a crazy like this encounters armed resistance in a church. Oh yea, it doesn’t end in a “mass shooting,” now does it?

Hmmm, better than the gun grabbers that crawl out of the woodwork like cockroaches after every mass shooting to try and restrict gun rights for the millions of us that had NOTHING to do with the shooting.

Oh, and just exactly HOW was a “Second Amendment, gun loving “good guy”” supposed to stop the Sandy Hook shooting? Sandy Hook, like so many of our schools, was a gun free zone in which no “good guys with guns” are even allowed. Had a concerned parent, etc attempted to protect that school with a gun, they would have faced criminal charges. Your lies are falling on deaf ears there libturds.

Wow, another bold-faced lie right at the beginning of the article. Nice work Shannon!

“Twenty-two thousand people die in accidental shootings or use their guns to kill themselves each year.”

WRONG, or at least so disingenuous as to be blatantly misleading, and therefore, a LIE.

There are approximately 22,000 suicides via via gun in this country each year, but only approximately 500 due to accidental shootings. Contrast that number with over 38,000 accidental poisonings, 30,000 falls, and 3400 drownings to put this into a bit more balanced perspective. Such lying and fear-mongering Shannon. Shame on you.

More derpity derp derp there Shannon … if a mass shooting happens, then it clearly wasn’t stopped. And just WHY is it that so many of these mass shootings are not being stopped by the “good guy with a gun”? Oh yea, because they’re happening in places where these “good guys” are NOT ALLOWED. Freakin A, are you libnuts really this dense?? OMFG.
