Trump decided to lash out at the media and stoke his ego with a tweet bragging about crowds cheering for him as he left Florida.
Just leaving Florida. Big crowds of enthusiastic supporters lining the road that the FAKE NEWS media refuses to mention. Very dishonest!

There was a slight problem though. The “cheering crowds” were not, in fact, cheering. Like hundreds of thousands of Americans, these people had spent the weekend protesting Trump’s policies. He tried to turn this bad publicity into the exact opposite and all it took was a blatant lie.
Unfortunately for Trump, one person who was there snapped pictures of the crowds lining the streets.
I just drove past those people lining the road& cheered them on. They were protesting you. You can't read the signs https://t.co/ez80UuU73I

It was easy to see that these people were not there to support Trump. Some had signs protesting the Dakota pipeline (which Trump approved of) and others were slamming him for his Muslim ban. Hardly “enthusiastic supporters.”
Here are the people lining the street as you left. You lied again, @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/8MGLJM9xcP

Those are the people Trump claims were his supporters. He is a liar.
Trump has been finding it increasingly hard to lie about his popularity. Already among the least popular presidents in history (just three weeks in!), the number of Americans who now feel he should be impeached is approaching 50 percent.
So rather than accept that fact and change his behavior, Trump is living in a delusion of his own creation where he never has to admit he’s wrong - and one where protesters are “enthusiastic” supporters. That’s scary.
