To many people, Barack Obama came out of nowhere. As 2007 was winding down and the Bush administration on the verge of destroying our country once and for all, Democratic presidential hopefuls began their ascent to the national stage to do battle with Hillary Clinton, the favorite in polls that summer to take the nomination.
Then something…happened. This man came onto the scene — a junior senator from Illinois — and people couldn’t help but pay attention. We all know what happened next: A great man was elected President of the United States and racism found a shiny new object to play with. Through all of the hate and obstruction, President Obama has acted and performed admirably. We may not agree with him on every issue, but we do agree that he loves his country and that he’s served it well.
This video shows that this great man didn’t become who he was in the winter of 2007 or the spring of 2008. It shows that he has always had what it takes to lead. Hos thoughts on being bi-racial, black culture, civil rights and conservatism were as spot on then as they are today.

wow, what a dignified man 20 years ago, with great opinions and honest words and grace……..I could listen to him speak all day
The video demonstrates he’s always been a whiner.
“Whiner” being the new code word for n***er?
I said whiner because that’s what I meant.
If that goat was on the other side of the fence, I bet he’d be whining too. I really read the word “winner”, because that is what he is. Have you always been a goat?
I read it as “winner” also.
stated by the man with a goat for his avatar……….
Just as thoughtful and measured as he is today.
Even back then he had grace and poise and commonsense.
I too could listen to him speak all day. I just love this man and am going to miss him when he’s no longer in office. I only hope that he stays active in politics and does some interviews.
