Washington insiders are hinting that Sen. Marco Rubio may be hit with a huge bombshell. It could kill his presidential campaign or even be a career-ending scandal.
FITS News reports that multiple sources are telling them that the research into Rubio’s finances has turned up more than just money woes. They say that Rubio is involved with a female lobbyist in Washington, D.C. FITS was provided the web page associated with the lobbyist which they showed to a “presidential operative” in South Carolina, who confirmed that the woman was “a focus” of research by opposition campaigns.
Of course, nobody is confirming anything at this point. It’s all “allegedly” and “could be” and “declined to elaborate,” but sources say that we will know more about this in the next couple of days. One source told FITS that there is “a decent chance” that this woman’s picture will soon be all over the media. The allegations are said to be being “leaked” to “mainstream media” this week.
Of course, Jeb Bush’s team has been rumored to be behind this whole thing. There have been whispers of a “zipper problem” surrounding Rubio almost as long as he’s been in the race. This may be why Rubio is having problems with large donors. But this is nothing new according to Buzzfeed. They spoke with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough who told them:
Everybody who runs against him says he has girlfriends, or financial problems. They throw a lot of shit at the wall. It’s the same thing from the Jeb Bush camp. They keep telling me, ‘Oh, we’ve got the thing that’s going to take him down.’ But nobody’s ever produced anything that we all haven’t read in the Tallahassee Democrat.
If this is legitimate it could ruin Marco Rubio’s presidential bid. Heck, it could ruin his entire career; look at what happened to Johnathan Edwards. With Rubio moving up in the polls, it could be a disaster. Where is Olivia Pope when you need her?
Many a political career has been ruined by similar scandals. Men like Wilbur Mills, John Ensign and Gary Hart have seen sex scandals ruin their political careers. But others — David Vitter, Mark Sanford, Bill Clinton — survived them with nary a scratch to their political lives.
This is still an allegation. But the deep research into Rubio’s financial woes may have turned up something much bigger. We shall see…

Well, looks like it’s going to be Lindsey Graham. Or maybe they’ll drag Mittens out and dust him off and run him again.
By running this article, you have participated in the whisper campaign you address in the article. Why would you do this if you are journalists? I would love to see Rubio go away, but this isn’t the way to do it. Real journalists deal with facts, not innuendo or whisper campaigns. Shame on you!
You could get your news elsewhere. I think you are mistaking opinion for journalism.
Not presented as an op-ed piece. Presented as a news story. And yes, I get my news from many different sources and apply critical thinking to all of them. The search for good journalism gets harder and harder every day. It doesn’t help when politicians make up their own facts and news outlets repeat them without fact-checking.
Presented as a news story … yes, it was. It’s reporting that there is scuttlebutt all around about a potential fatal flaw to Rubio’s campaign. Nowhere in the article does it state the rumors to be true. In fact, the author took pains to clearly define these as rumors at this point.
There is nothing wrong with reporting rumors that are floating around the presidential candidate group.
So, basically, you’re saying that Fox News isn’t news either? In which case, you’d be 92% correct.
No they aren’t. They are reporting what they know as of now and telling the world to keep watching for further details and facts.
If there is a whisper campaign about someone and you report about that whisper campaign, you are reporting the news as you know it right now. Keep watching for the facts to come out.
His campaign was never alive.
It won’t matter. He’s a republican. He will just ask Jesus for forgiveness and become more appealing to evangelicals.
Cruz is still gonna win anyway.
God help us if you’re right.
You call a President being impeached “nary a scratch to their political lives”???
It’s JOHN Edwards.
Rubio is a good-looking guy and like all politicians, is egotistical. I imagine he has women throwing themselves at him all the time and may well have been involved with one or more. So what? It really has little bearing on how he will perform as president. I don’t want any Republican president until they become more like Bush Sr. again, but Rubio seems a little better than most of the Republican candidates with any chance (Kasich is my personal favorite among Republicans). Probably I will vote for Hillary no matter who the Republicans nominate.
Voting for Hillary is voting for the GOP. She’s more conservative than Mitt Romney.
Bernie Sanders 2016
All hypocrites so no surprise and if he gets the boot it’s a bonus. And take Adolf Trump and Ted Crazy with you!
Bla, Bla, Bla….. Donald Trump had an affair on his first wife…. no one cares. There is plenty of worthy criticism of Rubio already, this “article” is a lot of hot air and suspicious whispering. We’ll see what happens but if true, Rubio will simply deny, deny, deny…..
