EXTORTING THE NEWS? Trump’s Son-In-Law Met With CNN Bosses To Force Friendlier Coverage (VIDEO)

Since the beginning of his dysfunctional political campaign back in 2015, President Donald Trump has made attacking the mainstream news media a cornerstone of his political strategy. Trump’s media attack tactic is almost like a student relentlessly attacking the credibility and character of his or her teacher to obtain an A+ in the course. But in Trump’s case, this strategy actually worked, and he became president. In recent months, Trump refined his approach by labeling CNN, one of the most universally respected cable news outlets in the world, as “fake news.”

Enter Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, son of disgraced billionaire real-estate developer Charles Kushner who was successfully prosecuted by then-New Jersey Attorney General Chris Christie for 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. Charles Kushiner also hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, had the arranged encounter secretly recorded and sent to his sister.

Kushner’s married Trump’s most “prized” daughter, Ivanka Trump, and after the election was named one of Trump’s senior political advisers despite having absolutely zero experience and not being even remotely qualified to advise the president.

There is now a report which claims that Kushner met with Gary Ginsberg, top Time Warner executive (Time Warner owns CNN), to complain about the new network’s coverage of his father-in-law in hopes of pressuring Ginsberg to pressure the news outlet to back off. From the Wall Street Journal:

‘In a meeting at the White House, Mr. Kushner complained to Gary Ginsberg, executive vice president of corporate marketing and communications at CNN’s parent Time Warner, about what Mr. Kushner feels is unfair coverage slanted against the president, the people said.

The Trump administration’s hostile posture toward the news media, especially CNN, has been evident in the president’s own statements and those of his press secretary and top aides. On Thursday, Mr. Trump lashed into CNN once again at a news conference, calling it “very fake news” with expert commentary that is “almost exclusively anti-Trump.”’

The Journal also reported that Kushner’s been “pushing the issue” with other Time Warner executives, like CNN President Jeff Zucker.

So now we have the spoiled rich son of a billionaire who advises the president (who also happens to be a spoiled rich son of a billionaire), trying to pressure the free press into, essentially, working for Trump. The president seems to have an affinity for surrounding himself with incompetent, unqualified political hand grenades which will one day go off in his face. For the sake of the nation, let’s hope that day comes soon, Kushner or another one of Trump’s clueless advisers gets America into some serious trouble.
