Conservatives Demand TV Host’s Right To Call Michelle Obama An Ape (SCREENSHOTS)

Conservatives have finally found a Hispanic man with whom they can identify — a hero who was mistreated because he had the courage to…call the First Lady an ape. Univision host Rodner Figueroa was terminated after his horrific statement during a Wednesday segment on the entertainment news show, El Gordo Y La Flaca.

While he was analyzing makeup artist Paolo Ballesteros’ transformation into Michelle Obama, (pictured below) — one of the artist’s many self-transformations into female celebrities — Figueroa could not help but denigrate the First Lady.

“Mind you, you know that Michelle Obama looks like she’s part of the cast of ‘Planet of the Apes,’ the film,” Figueroa said.

The show aired live with the horrific remark intact on the East Coast, but was edited for the West Coast. As of Wednesday night, the host was terminated and his photos were already in the process of being removed from Univision’s web pages.

Vice President of Consumer and Entertainment Public Relations Ivelisse Malave confirmed on Thursday that Figueroa was fired:

Yesterday during the entertainment show “El Gordo y La Flaca,” Rodner Figueroa made comments about First Lady Michelle Obama that were completely reprehensible and in no way reflect the values or opinions of Univision. As a result, Mr. Figueroa was fired immediately.

On Thursday, Figueroa wrote an “apology” to the First Lady, shifting the blame to Michelle Obama herself. “I want to clarify that I’m not racist and in no way was my comment directed at you, but rather the work of the [make up] artist, which left much to be desired,” the letter reads, in part.

Figueroa accused Univision of “humiliating” him, and claimed that he was terminated in response to a complaint from Obama’s office. He says that he was taken “out of context” during the live segment.

This man, despite his heritage and the fact that he doesn’t speak “Murikan,” managed to score enough points with the “angry white person” crowd to earn their support.

The Blaze lamented that an “Emmy Award-winning host” lost his job over his statements — and the crowd went…rabid:

Over at Right-Wing News, they needed only mention why the host was terminated to set off an audience that may be even better-trained than those who regularly read The Blaze:

Now, let’s take a look at how conservatives reacted when former MSNBC host Martin Bashir suggested that Sarah Palin eat nice, heaping, mouthful of sh*t after some controversial remarks Palin made regarding slavery:

In other words, Bashir needed to be fired because he made disgusting remarks about Palin in response to her remarks regarding slavery yet this host deserved to keep his job because he compared the President’s wife to an ape.

Yup. Makes sense.

remember remember when America was a place where if you bit off your foot you got called on it, when if you said things that were untoward or ignorant you were censured you could still say what you wanted but no one would be there to be infected by the ignorance spewed forth, this was vile this was petty and stupid so yes he should have been fired and lets make the example for a more intelligent and refined America

Yes, but outrageous statements that infuriate one side or the other makes for “good TV,” and that’s the only reason it gets spread around. TV isn’t concerned with politics, race, fairness, equality, or war or bigotry.

TV is all about making you watch it so that advertisers can get to you. Period. That’s all it’s about. When you realize you’re not getting news, information, or even someone’s true opinion (after all, we’re told this guy “isn’t a racist”), but a production designed to keep your attention engaged long enough for a commercial message to be introduced, you’ll quit getting mad at it and just TURN IT THE FK OFF.

NOTHING on television is worth watching. Literally nothing.

While many of us share your sentiments, you could probably get more ‘likes’ by taking it down a notch - and what’s with the CaPiTaLiZaTiOn? Doesn’t that cramp your shift hand? Wow.

First of all, you lost all credibility when you chose to name call him as well. You’re poor choice of words in your entire post is just absolutely laughable. Grow up, learn how to speak like a human being and then people will take you more seriously. I agree that this guy should be fired and I’m glad he was fired for his racist comment.

  • SoSezYou says:

How about that? They insist on the ability to make racist statements. What a bunch of frigging cowards.

  • JamieHaman says:

Good for Univision. Any announcer should be fired for saying such horrible things about ANY First Lady. They Obama Family has had enough ugly things thrown their way over the last 6 or so years to last for a dozen lifetimes.
Commentators like this, Limbaugh, Hannity, do nothing to solve a problem, noting to promote peace, noting to make any situation better.

  • T Wallace says:

Who cares what they think? This man should have looked in the mirror before he called Mrs. Obama out on her looks. People look in the mirror first, maybe that might keep you from making comments like this. Look at him! Look at you!

  • Emma Duncan says:

despite the above comments, I can’t think of one time anyone said anything quite as nasty to Sarah Palin. and the freak from Texas who thinks the Obamas had Joan Rivers murdered.

  • Billygabe says:

Yes, race has nothing to do with their hatred of the president and his family, lol. Well the comments made by those on the right proves that they are racist and ignorant group.

  • Adam says:

so i am “crying” about taking responsibility? his first amendment rights are intact, he was not punished by any government he lost his job. for making his employer look bad. in other words he got what he had coming but he is welcome to say anything he wants on any street in America, just as i have the right to laugh at him for presenting himself as a moron.
