Wrongly Accused Muslim Boy Invited To The White House: Conservatives Lose Their Minds

Ahmed Mohammed, 14, loves science and he actually made a working homemade digital clock. Then he made a huge mistake: he brought it to school to show his teacher.

Sounds commonplace, right? Well, it was until an English teacher feared Ahmed’s innocuous experiment was a bomb. The boy was placed in handcuffs by police and taken “downtown” until the police came to the conclusion that it was just an experiment and they had completely overreacted, so he was released to his parents. No charges were filed, but the school imposed a three-day suspension anyway. What happened after this on Twitter, though, is what has the conservatives losing their damn minds.

Here is a picture of Ahmed with his family:

The media responded to this incident with a plethora of stories, so many it became viral and it was brought to the attention of President Obama. MSN News recently ran a story saying that the teen had been tweeted by the President of the United States of America, (WOW, that kids had to feel pretty proud of his clock at that moment!)

Cool clock, Ahmed,” Obama tweeted about Ahmed Mohamed, 14. “Want to bring it to the White House?

We should inspire more kids like you to like science,” the president added. “It’s what makes America great.

Pretty cool, huh? To be treated like a criminal for your creativity and put on a three-day suspension, then be acknowledged by the POTUS and invited to the WHITE HOUSE? Hell, a grown person would be excited! This article is one of those “will restore your faith in humanity” kind of articles, then you reach the comment section.

Boom, the comments start out drenched in bigotry, then turn ugly:

Ugh, yeah, they are exactly what you would expect from a bigoted and hateful right-wingers, but there are a lot of supportive comments too. There seem to be a lot more cowards among the hateful, though, because of the amount that are willing to click like while not wanting to openly say the horrendous sh*t these racists are saying.

It really is very cool looking, as you can see here:

Screen shot from Dallas News of the home-made digital clock. Seems pretty obvious that there are no explosives in it…

Truth, if this boy was not Muslim he would have been sent home at worst, instead of treated, well, like a terrorist.

Luckily the hate is not unchallenged:

Then this one, which really seems to sum it up:

Some people only see what they wish to see and this is just another example of the greatness of our POTUS being maligned by people who are just not as tolerant, kind, nor as open minded as he is.

“All he would say is its a clock and had no more information for us” It IS a clock, WTF else COULD he say about it you booger eating moron???

    • Jason

How about what he was doing with is in class? How many people do you that carry around a suitcase clock with wires sticking out of it you vaginal discharge eating goofball???

      • James Wood

It is a few inches across, hardly a suitcase. And it had no wires sticking out until the vops ripped them out. He had it to show his engineering teacher. Perhaps ypu shpuld find an adult and have them read the articke to you, since your ability to do so yourself is clearly deficient.

    • Ricardo Rebelo

He could explain what he was doing… Very suspicious answer

      • James Wood

Its a clock. How many ways do you have to explain what a clock is before even the dumbest of the dumb grasp the concept?

        • Ricardo Rebelo

The Shoe Bomber is quoted as saying: “It’s a shoe! How many ways do you have to explain what a shoe is before even the dumbest of the dumb grasp the concept?”

          • James Wood

When reality does not fit your viws, lie. Works for other racists.

  • Ricardo Rebelo

    Stop the race baiting already!

Oh come on! A black kid named Mohammed enters a school with a contraption that includes a clock and wires…

What would you expect security to react?

I’m sure the parents of the other kids were really glad they acted. Plus, if you had kids in that school you have gone ballistic if security didn’t act, right?

But leave to Obummer to stir the race pot yet again!

    • Debora

If they thought it was a bomb, they would’ve evacuated, called the bomb squad, and gotten as far away from it as possible. But no. They sat with it in the office. They brought it to the Police Station in a cruiser. Ridiculous.

      • Ricardo Rebelo

You are totally right! They should have done more… On hindsight the kid was lucky he wasn’t shot on sight!

You don’t yell fire in a crowded theater and don’t take contraptions looking like that to a school!

Use some common sense and stop this race baiting

        • Debora

They obviously knew it wasn’t a bomb, Ricardo.

          • Ricardo Rebelo

            How do you

          • Ricardo Rebelo

            How do you know that?

            How did they know that?

How do you know that they knew that?

            Care to explain?

          • Debora

Because they didn’t treat it like a bomb. They could see there were no explosives.

          • Ricardo Rebelo

So they were military experts on explosives… Is that it?

I fail to see how someone that looks at a contraption with wires and a clock can be certain it’s no a bomb… Can you?

          • Debora

Well, apparently they did. They didn’t call the bomb squad. They called the police and sat in the office with the “bomb”. Weird.

          • Ricardo Rebelo

            Means they were careless…

Because if it had been a bomb a they probably wouldn’t have noticed before the big boom!

Do you agree that it’s better safe than sorry?

          • Debora

            Of course.

          • Ricardo Rebelo

            Thank you!

          • Debora

Because if it had been a bomb a they probably wouldn’t have noticed before the big boom!

            what?

          • Ricardo Rebelo

But I’ll give you this… They should have had a much more muscled reaction…

          • Debora

Which can only tell you that they already knew it was a clock.

          • Rick Derris

            They’ve since admitted it.

        • Rick Derris

          “stop this race baiting”

Oh, the irony in this statement is delicious!
