Donald Trump cannot go a day without ruining America’s standing in some part of the world. He’s becoming America’s greatest liability, and he continues to prove himself more and more dangerous with his reckless behavior. What Trump did earlier today is no different.
Mere hours before he was set to host Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago to discuss international trade and policy, Trump decided to kick off the day by bashing Jinping – a strategy that Trump has not yet figured out only works on reality television, not government or anywhere else in real life.
At a Wounded Warrior event being held at the White House, Trump gave an impromptu interview to Fox News’ Pete Hegseth, where he just couldn’t resist ruining his meeting with Jinping before it even started. Although Trump admitted “nobody really knows” how those meeting will go, he decided to influence Jinping by giving the Chinese president yet another reason to hate the United States. Trump said:
“We have not been treated fairly on trade for many, many years. No president’s taken care of that the way they should have, and we have a big problem with North Korea, we’re going to see what happens.”
North Korea has been a touchy subject before, and Trump has previously threatened China over putting political pressure on the nation. Trump stated that if China wouldn’t help him control North Korea’s missile testing and aggressive policy, America would jump into action against them alone.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Trump’s meeting with Jinping goes, considering Trump is already making a horrible impression. You can watch this disastrous interview below:
