Donald Trump attacked John McCain again and it’s even more disgraceful this time.
As you may recall, Trump attacked McCain for being a prisoner of war during Vietnam. “I like people who weren’t captured,” Trump said. McCain was brutally tortured after his plane was shot down. The torture was so severe that he can no longer lift his arms above his shoulders.
But Trump, who dodged the draft during Vietnam by claiming alleged “bone spurs,” attacked him anyway and he just did it again. Only this time, Trump is president, which makes it even worse.
Trump ordered a failed raid in Yemen last month that left several women and children dead, including an eight-year-old American girl. A Navy SEAL was also killed. Adding to the loss of life, the raid is said to have failed to even kill the intended target.
John McCain rightfully refused to call the raid a success.
“While many of the objectives of the recent raid in Yemen were met, I would not describe any operation that results in the loss of American life as a success,” he said.
Indeed, the fact that innocent women and children were killed also disqualifies this raid from being deemed a success.
So, Trump lashed out at McCain on Twitter.
Sen. McCain should not be talking about the success or failure of a mission to the media. Only emboldens the enemy! He’s been losing so….

…long he doesn’t know how to win anymore, just look at the mess our country is in - bogged down in conflict all over the place. Our hero..

..Ryan died on a winning mission ( according to General Mattis), not a “failure.” Time for the U.S. to get smart and start winning again!

And then Trump promptly got his ass handed to him.
.@realDonaldTrump So, scrutiny, reflection, and evaluation embolden the enemy? Got it.

.@realDonaldTrump How many times have you then emboldened the enemy? https://t.co/zC2ApzUqnD

@realDonaldTrump You embolden our enemies by showing them what you are: A weak, thin-skinned narcissist who cannot handle criticism. Weak!

@realDonaldTrump Things @JohnMcCain hasn’t done:
1. Declared bankruptcy.
2. Sexual assaulted women.
3. Insulted Gold Star families.— MatthewDicks (@MatthewDicks) February 9, 2017
@realDonaldTrump While I don’t agree much with @SenJohnMcCain, I respect his service to this country. His service TRUMPS your record.

If Republicans truly care about our veterans, their only choice is to rebuke Donald Trump for attacking a man who nearly died for our country. McCain is more qualified than Trump to evaluate the success or failure of a military operation. And the fact is that the Yemen raid was a complete failure. Civilians were killed, the main target was not killed, an American soldier died, and the raid was ordered based on a ten year old video.
Donald Trump is a joke, and he will get a lot more American troops killed before he is done.
