Kansas Ammosexuals Argue About Safety As The State Destroys Gun Laws

The state of Kansas and their brilliant Senate just passed a bill that would do away with concealed carry permits. You know, because in a country that has about the same number of gun deaths as a developing nation in the midst of a war, it’s a super smart move to deregulate the weapons.

The left is obviously against this, because we actually pay attention to statistics, but we are not alone in our objections. Concealed carry instructors in Kansas are also speaking out against the bill because…..dun dun dun dunnn….it’s unsafe.

Mike Yoder, a law enforcement officer and thirty year firearms instructor, says that not requiring people to take a safety class is a big mistake. He and other instructors say that the classes are vital to protect not only the public, but also the person firing the weapon.

Every bullet that leaves that gun, just consider there’s an attorney’s name on it. And it’s not something to take lightly. Because unfortunately most people get their training from t.v. shows. Probably 85% of the time it’s in the classroom talking about liability issues. When you pull that trigger you’re responsible for every round that leaves that barrel. And even if you’re justified in that shooting, you still face the possibilities of criminal and/or civil action. [Source]

Kansas is a “Stand Your Ground” state. So, if a person reasonably believes they are in harm, they are within their rights to use deadly force. Yoder says that people think it is so simple, but really it’s very complicated:

And I say that’s pretty simple, isn’t it? And most people say, ‘Well, yeah, that’s pretty cut and dried, and then we start getting into different types of scenarios and what ifs and.. and it’s not that simple at all. It becomes very complicated at times.

In other words: people think that they can go Wild West and shoot whoever look at them wrong, but that is not the case.

The bill now moves to the House, where it is expected to pass. It is extremely likely that Governor Brownback will sign it into law.

Brownback is the same governor who decided to do away with the laws that protect the LGBTQ community from discrimination at work, so obviously he isn’t going to protect any citizens from guns.

It’s funny that we have an entire group of Second Amendment loving people who have crossed party lines and stood with liberals against this bill. You know your gun nuts are out of control when other gun nuts are telling them to chill out and stop being stupid.

Calling CCW instructors gun nuts is disingenuous. Mere contact with guns does not make you a gun nut. There are many gun owners that support sane gun restrictions.

If you take the tack that mere contact with guns makes one a gun nut, be prepared for that asinine train of thought to be used against you in the future for many things. For example, mere contact with legal marijuana makes you a drug addict - something equally asinine as your statement.

I have a CCW and actually believe in “safety classes” and open carry, on the other hand I believe in the treatment of many with Legal Cannabis - God, I don’t what I am - except patient & smart.

Every time I read something that starts off with a term like ammosexual I feel like I’m reading a liberal version of Fox News. You can do better. Don’t stoop to their tactics. I believe we should have universal healthcare, free education and the right to own guns. Under normal circumstances I think people who carry guns should carry them concealed. It is the tactical thing to do. But I don’t think open carry should be illegal because their may be circumstances that justify open carry and we don’t need something else to arrest people for.

The left is obviously against [constitutional carry], because we actually pay attention to statistics […] in a country that has about the same number of gun deaths as a developing nation in the midst of a war

Uh huh, you may “pay attention to” the statistics, but in a highly disingenuous way. What percentage of all those “gun deaths” have anything whatsoever to do with concealed carry? Remember that fully 2/3 (that’s 66%) are SUICIDES, and an extremely large number of the remaining 11,000 intentional homicides are domestic in nature, as in people killing each other in their homes.

I’m totally sure that most “developing nation[s] in the midst of a war” see 4 deaths per 100k population, totally.

“But now,” he said, “take your money and a traveler’s bag. And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one!” -Jesus(Luke 22:36)

Today’s equivalents of a “Sword” would be a a defensive rifle(pistols would merely be daggers)
