GOP Lawmaker Calls Childbirth Resulting From Rape ‘Beautiful’

You’d think that the GOP would just stop weighing in on rape, because it never ends well for them, but they just can’t help themselves. The latest wtf comment comes to us from West Virginia Del. Brian Kurcaba (R) during a committee hearing on a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. The lawmaker had this to say:

Obviously rape is awful. What is beautiful is the child that could come from this. [Source]

Are you banging your head on the desk right now too?

This isn’t the first time a man in the Republican Party decided it was his place to make an asinine comment about rape. The party is pretty notorious for it.

I’m sure you all remember the legitimate rape comment from Todd Akin of Missouri:

If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something: I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be of the rapist, and not attacking the child. [Source]

Kurcaba’s “beautiful” comment ranks right up there with Akin’s comment. He should be proud.

Kurcaba was arguing that a woman who has been raped should not be exempt from the 20 week abortion ban. He is trying to paint some idealistic picture of a rape pregnancy that doesn’t exist.

The Republican Party spends a lot of time blaming women for their own victimizations. Rape victims were asking for it because of their clothes, their blood alcohol level, where they are at, if they are alone, etc. etc. etc. So when these rapes result in a pregnancy the mysogynistic pigs want to prevent these victims from having an abortion because they want to punish them for being such whores.

ALL right-wing abortion objections boil down to punishing women for spreading their whore legs. All of them. It doesn’t matter if she’s been raped or not; women are sluts and they need to be punished.

These are the comments and policies that are making women never, ever want to vote for the GOP.

This is the stuff that makes women say,”F*ck the GOP.”
