Russell Westbrook Gives Single Mom The Car He Won For Being All-Star Game MVP (TWEETS)

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook is not only a tremendous player on the court, he is also a fantastic person as well who has gone above and beyond for one single mother in desperate need of a new car.

Westbrook recently won All-Star Game MVP for 2015 and with that came the prize of a new Kia car. However, he decided not to keep the car for himself, but instead give it to single mother Kerstin Gonzales.

The MVP said:

Today was a good stepping stone to show her everything is going to be all right.

And he wanted to honor:

All the hard work she’s done to keep her family together. I just want to be able to help others any way I can.

Here are a few Tweets from the Oklahoma City Thunder explaining why he decided to give away the car:

What a class act, and a great example for all those who aspire to be in the position Westbrook is in. He proves life is more than just getting to the dream job you aspire to get to, but also recognizing the blessings it brings and giving back to others who may not have had the opportunity to be so fortunate. Well done.
