In cased you missed it, Dusty Liulay is a 9-year-old Portland Oregon boy who decided that since he was “too young” to volunteer at the local soup kitchens, he would just make his own program to help the homeless. Dusty’s Sacks of Hope was born, and now the program is feeding 120 to 150 people a week in Portland, Oregon.
This amazing little boy and his family took to contacting news blogs, trying to get the word out about their GoFundMe so that they could continue to make Dusty’s dream of making the world a better place come true. The stories that were written, got the attention of their local News station. Dusty’s Mother, Jenny Lay she told KOIN News that she is very proud of her little boy:
He’s got a bit of an old soul in him.
Here is Dusty’s Facebook page, please go give him a like! If you would like to donate to his GoFundMe, go here. Dusty’s program is able to feed a person on about two dollars, so any dollar will help this young man.
Dusty explained why he wanted to help feed the homeless:
I sit down at the dinner table and get a whole table full of food, but they get crumbs.
