We’ve all seen videos of people who end up having a little too much to drink. These videos usually show them talking loudly, singing bad karaoke, attempting to perform some feat which they wouldn’t otherwise attempt sober, or picking a fight with someone. But Whitney Marie Beall, overachiever that she is, went above and beyond. She live streamed video of herself, driving drunk, on Periscope.
Police in Lakeland, Florida began receiving calls from concerned friends on Saturday night, describing Beall’s drunk driving. In the video, she describes herself as drunk, doesn’t know where she is going, and thinks she is driving on a flat tire. She can be heard saying:
Where am I right now, people? I have to go home.
Apparently people viewing the video, were furiously messaging her on Periscope, telling her to pull over. But safety nut that she is, Beall states she cannot and will not answer them because she is DRIVING.
Police eventually found Beall, indeed driving on a flat tire. Police smelled alcohol, and said Beall appeared disoriented, with slurred speech. After failing a field sobriety test, Beall refused to take a Breathalyzer and was arrested for driving under the influence.
Beall’s attorney says he is waiting to see all the evidence, but when her court date is set he will be entering a plea of not guilty.
What a lawyer. Self-created video proving his client did the crime? No problem.
The Lakeland Police issued the following statement:
The streaming Periscope video highlights the dangers of driving while intoxicated through the eyes of a drunk and irresponsible young adult. The Lakeland Police Department is extremely thankful that this did not result in an accident and no one was injured as a result of her poor decision.
Let’s watch Whitney Marie Beall NOT drive drunk:
