There are few things in the universe sweeter than karmic justice, and last week an uber anti-LGBT preacher got a big pink double scoop of it.
Arizona Pastor Steven Anderson is known for his absolute pure hatred of the LGBT community. After the Orlando shooting Anderson joined other homophobic “men of God” around the country in celebrating the deaths of 49 innocent people within the LGBT community. On June 22, Anderson posted a disgusting video praising the attack, stating that there are “50 less pedophiles” in the world.
Anderson said, “These homosexuals are a bunch of disgusting perverts and pedophiles. That’s who was a victim here, are a bunch of just disgusting homosexual at a gay bar, okay?”
The Arizona pastor insists that everyone within the LGBT community should be executed. But Anderson and his bigoted friends got a big surprise from the LGBT community who finally had enough of their toxic filth.
“It’s war. You know what the filthy sodomites have done toward our church and us, and our friends and our fellow pastors that actually have the guts to say what needs to be said? Here’s what they’ve done in the last few weeks,” he told his congregation. “They got our PayPal account shut down so that we can’t take anymore online donations. We set up with another company, GivLet, they got that shut down. Qgiv, they got that shut down. BitPay, they got that shut down. They shut down our iTunes podcast. They shut down Brother Jimenez’s PayPal account. They shut down Brother Romero’s PayPal account… The landlord of Pastor Jimenez is saying, ‘hey we’re not going to renew your lease.’”
Anderson was making reference to Roger Jimenez, a California pastor who similarly praised the mass shooting in Orlando.
“I think that’s great. I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida’s a little safer tonight,” Jimenez said in response to the attack. “It is unnatural for a man to be attracted to another man. The tragedy is that more of them didn’t die.”
He also mentioned Fort Worth, Texas pastor Donnie Romero, who co-signed Jimenez’s offensive comments:
These 50 sodomites are all perverts and pedophiles, and they are the scum of the earth, and the earth is a little bit better place now,” Romero said in a sermon following the massacre.
The zealot was beyond pissed that their words came back to bite them:
I mean these people are dedicated,” he said, about LGBT rights activists. “These people are researching, they’re finding out where we bank, they’re finding out who we do business with. They’re trying to get us shut down on all fronts, and you know what, let me tell you something, I’m sick of it.
The Arizona pastor than completely lost it. Wild-eyed and hysterical, he jumped on the podium and started berating his own congregation:
And you know what, if you’re not gonna back us up then get out of here, we don’t need your help,” he said, before launching into an invective-filled rant calling LGBT people “dogs.
Idiots like Anderson can be found all over America, but the worse ones are not loud and proud about their bigotry. Instead, they disguise it in softer tones. They say things like “being gay is a choice” and a “sin.” Some pastors gently encourage gay men and women to deny their natural inclinations and become celibate while they ask God to turn them into heterosexuals. There are numerous ways these wolves in sheep’s clothing manage to rationalize their bigotry under the guise of “love and acceptance.”
But with all of his anti-gay bluster and fervor, don’t be surprised to if you found out the “good” pastor got exposed some time in the future cruising Grindr for a couple of camping buddies.
