Watch Chuck Todd Ignore Hastert’s Sexual Misconduct, Grill Bernie Sanders On Trivial Sex Essay

The only thing seemingly worse than the smug Foxbots and mannequins on Fox & Friends is Chuck Todd on Meet the Press. So maybe he’s not exactly in the same category of that unwatchable vapidity, which, if you do watch, gives you eye cancer. However, he’s still pretty awful and almost always toes the same corporate-friendly line as his predecessor David Gregory did. Oh lord, why can’t Jon Stewart take that gig and turn it into something watchable and noble again!? But I digress…

During Sunday’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd decided not only to totally ignore the important issues (completely normal these days), but he also managed to grill Bernie Sanders on some trivial 43-year-old sex essay. Oh, and while totally ignoring the sordid sexual abuses in the Dennis Hastert case.

Todd forced Senator Sanders to answer to a 43-year-old essay that right-wing hacks are using against him, because Jesus loves incest and pedophilia and absolutely hates silly satire. Here was Bernie’s response:

“Sure. This is a piece of fiction that I wrote in 1972, I think. That was 43 years ago, and if you read it, what it was dealing with was gender stereotypes. Why some men like to oppress women, why other women like to be submissive. You know, something like 50 Shades of Grey. Very poorly written, forty-three years ago. What I am focusing on right now are the issues impacting the American people today, and what I will continue to focus on.”

The last thing the American people associate Bernie Sanders with is 50 Shades of Grey. Rather, Bernie is synonymous with taking principled stances on a variety of middle-class issues.
