Texas Senator Ted Cruz is in full desperation mode. Republican front-runner Donald Trump is running away with the nomination, and now Cruz is looking everywhere for an opportunity to sway voters, including the toilet.
Recently many Republicans have sought to add sexual predators dressing up as women to assault little girls to their ammo bucket of exaggerated fears they use to sway voters. However, when asked this last Thursday on NBC’s Today about South Carolina’s anti-LGBT law as it related to transgender people using public restrooms, Trump replied:
Well look, North Carolina did something that was very strong, and they’re paying a big price, and there’s a lot of problems,” he said. But he then agreed with a commentator’s argument to “leave it the way it is.
You leave it the way it is,” Trump said. “There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble, and the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic punishment that they’re taking. So I would say that’s probably the best way.
Trump also stated that Caitlyn Jenner could use any bathroom she wished to use in Trump Tower.
Cruz, of course, jumped on the billionaire’s comment like a starving dog attacking a pot roast, telling Glenn Beck:
It is simply crazy and the idea that grown men would be allowed alone in a bathroom with little girls — you don’t need to be a behavioral psychologist to realize bad things can happen, and any prudent person wouldn’t allow that.
The senator continued to attack Trump at a campaign rally in Frederick, Maryland last week:
He thought that men should be able to go into the girls’ bathrooms if they want to,” Cruz said here to building applause. “Grown adult men — strangers — should not be alone in a bathroom with little girls. And that’s not conservative. That’s not Republican or Democrat. That’s basic common sense.
In Cruz’s twisted mind, he sees the transgender bathroom debate as a “wedge issue” that he can use to sway some Trump voters.
In keeping with his reputation as an authentic American* creeper, Cruz even managed to find a perverted way to attack both Trump and Clinton using the Transgender bathroom issue.

But wait, there’s more. Cruz also decided to throw money into creating a disturbing bathroom ad designed to prey on the fears of ignorant conservative voters.
The ad ironically titled, “Appropriate,” takes direct aim at Trump’s surprisingly reasonable stance on transgender bathrooms:
Should a grown man pretending to be a woman be allowed to use the women’s restroom? The same restroom used by your daughter? Your wife? Donald Trump thinks so,” reads the ad, which first aired April 22 and includes a clip of Trump suggesting people use the bathroom that “they feel is appropriate.”
“It’s not appropriate,” the ad continues. “It’s not safe. It’s PC nonsense that’s destroying America. Donald Trump won’t take on the PC police. He’s one of them.
It’s clear that Cruz is going after one of Trump’s biggest voting demographic, which consists of low-educated, angry Caucasians with an affinity for Rebel flag apparel and alcoholic beverages.
Transgender people have always accessed the restrooms they feel most comfortable with using. There are virtually no instances of transgender people using public restrooms to abuse children, nor are their more than five cases of sexual predators pretending to be transgender to gain access to women’s only facilities.
This non-issue Republicans like Cruz are trying to turn into a “public safety” concern, is just another distraction by a party with no solutions or even a general direction towards a solution to real problems Americans care about solving.
Despite what Cruz believes, you don’t have to be a member of the “PC Police” to respect basic human decency.
