Conservatives turn on Megyn Kelly for attacking the national embarrassment that is Donald Trump.
The conservatives are boycotting again; this time they’re eating their own with their latest boycott of Megyn Kelly’s show on Fox “News,” The Kelly File.
After watching the A-list Republican presidential debate last night I was a little surprised to see the Fox “News” moderators running a train on front-runner Donald Trump. Many on the interwebs perceived this as Roger Ailes trying to destroy Trump’s chances of getting the nomination and the Republicans were not happy.
The question that has conservatives saying Kelly committed career suicide last night?
Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular, when it comes to women.
You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.’
At this point the crowd breaks into unified laughter, apparently non-plussed by the fact that women participate in politics.
Only Rosie O’Donnell.
The crowd breaks down into applause and laughter.
Kelly was undeterred saying that was untrue, many times on his Twitter account Trump has denigrated women, saying:
Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?
Trump then made asshole noises with his mouth and gave some garbled answer about political correctness destroying America.
He then ended his reply with this little tidbit to make sure Kelly understood her place:
What I say is what I say. And honestly Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be, based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that.
And Trump came out a favorite from last night.
Here’s the clip that has Conservatives in an uproar:
Now, I am not one to stand in the way of letting the GOP rip each other apart over a joke of a candidate that is The Donald, but I’m pretty angry that Megyn is being attacked for a serious question like this.
Here’s what conservatives are saying on her official Facebook page:
There are thousands of comments all saying the same. What has me defending Kelly here is she’s being accused of getting too personal with Trump, but really it IS important for a president to not be in the habit of calling “uppity” women “dogs,” “slobs” and reducing them to sexual objects.
So why don’t the conservatives understand this?
Other than the fact that their IQ’s have hit a deplorable low, women aren’t important to the GOP. At all. The very fact that Kelly was attacked for even asking such a question is a testament to this fact.
But hey, it’s nothing new and I’m not complaining because being tone-deaf to sexism is what lost the GOP the last two elections.
That’s your party, Megyn.
