RACIST MUCH? GOP Candidate Accuses Obama Of Dividing The Races By Giving Blacks ‘Free Stuff’ (VIDEO)

Retired Florida Physician Mark Freeman wants to bring back one of the GOP’s favorite “oldie but goodie” racist tropes to smear President Obama.

Freeman is running for Florida’s swing 18th Congressional District. When the retired doctor was asked last Thursday during a local forum how he would heal racial divisions; Freeman delivered a predictable Republican answer:

This is deep-seated. Obama has made a bold-faced effort to drive a wedge between the races. He paints a picture of envy to our black citizens and the envy drives hatred. And then he says to them: ‘You’ve got it coming for free. These rich people owe you.’

And on top of that, he gives them free stuff, too. And that just is anti-American and it complicates our relations between the races. And really we need to have compassion for these people. And we need to allow them the education they need so that they can have self-worth and dignity and become productive citizens.

Freeman makes reference to one of the most consistent attacks Republicans use against Obama ever since he took office. Republicans often make reference to things like “Obama phones” and other “free stuff” they accuse the president of using to bribe black people.

He also inferred that blacks are envious of whites, lazy, and don’t want to work. He said black people need to be taught how to have “dignity and become productive citizens.”

In 2012, the GOP released an autopsy of their failed 2012 campaign to take the white house, titled: Growth & Opportunity Project.

The report states:

We need to campaign among Hispanic, black, Asian, and gay Americans and demonstrate we care about them, too. We must recruit more candidates who come from minority communities. But it is not just tone that counts. Policy always matters.

The report noted that Republicans should avoid things like insulting minorities, belittling rape victims, and using toxic immigrant rhetoric. However, it would seem that the rise of candidates like Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and down-ticket Republicans like Freedman show that the Republican party is doubling down on their past mistakes.

Here’s a fantastic campaign ad from Freeman designed to scare the shit out of older white conservative seniors and probably most of Florida’s NASCAR fanbase.
