Recently, host of the 700 Club, Pat Robertson celebrated a man for his decision to not allow his grandson to bring his partner to Thanksgiving dinner. The man explained that he loves his grandson, but cannot support the lifestyle, saying:
The presence of his sex partners would not be welcome in our home.
Robertson then goes on to commend him for his ignorance:
There’s a real good chance that he might come out of that so-called lifestyle, as long as the family does not condone his behavior.
This isn’t the first time he has had outlandish ideas about homosexuality. Just last month, Robertson linked the plunging global stock market to condoning same-sex marriage and we will suffer for it.
If there was ever a time that we need the grace of God, it is now. Unless something is done to change the courts and to change the way this country is going, it is just a question of time before the fabric ruptures and we’ll all suffer because of it.
Seriously? Because in Robertson’s twisted mind, accepting our loved ones for who they are, is only going to fuel the scary gay epidemic. Give me a break! It isn’t ANYONE’s business if two consenting adults of the same-sex love each other and to suggest that some “tough love” might allow him to return to the land of heterosexuals is asinine!
The talking corpse even went as far as to compare the situation to bringing home a stripper, which is quite comical if you think about it since we all know how bat-shit crazy he is. Does he think a stripper will show up to a family function in a thong with a port-o-pole ready to do party tricks? This leaves me wondering what he expects from a gay person at the dinner table; does he think they are going to pour gravy on each other and lick it off? As a televangelist who has probably had dinner with multiple church leaders, it’s hard to imagine he hasn’t broken bread with at least one gay person. And yet, The Gay™ hasn’t killed him.
