Off-Duty Cop Doesn’t Identify Himself, Slams Man To Ground For ‘Resisting’ (VIDEO)

It’s unclear whether the cops in this video are plain-clothed or off-duty. What is clear is that the man they’ve set their sights on has no idea who they are.

At an undisclosed Denny’s location, these cops aren’t taking kindly to something this customer has done. The one with the uber-tough-guy mentality tells the man repeatedly that he needs to pay his bill and leave.

The man, obviously not knowing these are police, looks to be paying his bill, but he has some choice words for the cop.

“You need to get out of my face,” The man says. It seems like a reasonable request. As he takes out his wallet to pay he mutters something else and the cop pulls out a pair of handcuffs, slapping one on the guy’s right wrist.

“Wait a minute,” the man says, “What’s your name?”

Instead of producing a badge or offering his name, the cop violently slams the man to the floor and starts screaming profanities at him.

When asked what he’s being charged with, the tough guy cop tells him “resisting.” The crowd at Denny’s chuckles, because they know you can’t resist when you have no idea you’re being arrested or why. “Threatening an officer.”

How is anyone supposed to know you’re an officer? It was clear by the man’s reaction to being handcuffed that it was the first he’d heard of it.

This is just another case of one power-hungry little cop making a bad name for all those guys out there who put their lives on the line to protect us from…people like this bad little cop.

So has this cop been punished for this? Or is that a silly question?

  • Mark R. DeMist

That is the kind of shit that will get that cop killed. If I was spun around without warning I would defend myself.

hope that cop gets sued for all his money and his wife leaves him

He may be unidentified in this video, but he would have to have identified himself on the police report when he brought the “perp” (aka victim) in and booked the arrest. Which, while we may not, the guy in the video should be able to access. Which, hopefully, he will when he files a civil suit for wrongful arrest and police brutality.

the off duty (civilian) cop committed assault and kidnapping, he could have very easily called 911 if there was an issue requiring police presence. This cop is the kind who gives good cops a bad rap.

if you don’t identify yourself as a cop then you have no reason to cry when i put a hole in your chest for touching me.
