From Mexico City, Molina Tapia, 31, laughs and eggs on her 2-year-old daughter as she abuses one of their house cats, dragging the helpless animal throughout the home.
This prime example of motherhood recorded video of the abuse, posting it to Facebook with the heading, “My darling daughter with our pet cat.”
The footage contains one minute and seventeen seconds of the girl swinging the animal around by its forelegs. Multiple times she falls, landing atop the cat, clearly causing it bodily harm, only to lift it back up and continue the torture. The feline tries to escape without success.
The video quickly spread, hundreds of thousands of viewers whom were appalled by the treatment sharing it to enlighten as many as possible to the horrific parenting of Tapia.
Animal rights activists soon caught wind of the snippet, hounding the woman relentlessly until she finally deleted her personal social networking page.
One such activist Justicia para Callejerit was quoted, saying:
There’s a tight connection between treating animals badly and treating people badly. Children who abuse animals have a bigger risk of becoming violent adults.
Although the clip garnered such a resounding response, Mexico City police could take no action against Tapia due to the fact that no law in Mexico exists regarding animal cruelty.
Unfortunately this kind of behavior also exists in the United States with only a fraction being reported. Children may not know better, but it is the responsibility of the parents to teach them otherwise. Laughing with a camera in hand does just the opposite, but sadly, that is quickly becoming the way of the world as more and more people seek viral famedom.
