A Gary, Indiana man is in police custody after shooting a 13-year-old neighbor nine times, killing him on the spot.
The incident occurred on Friday, October, 24, 2014. The suspect, whose name is not being released, came home around 2:30 p.m. to see that his house had been burglarized. In a fit of anger, he began storming throughout the neighborhood, knocking on doors demanding to know who broke into his home.
Around 5 p.m., 13-year-old Kobe Jones was sitting on his porch, laughing at the suspect. It was then that the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him nine times.
He then got into a vehicle with his girlfriend, also unidentified, and left the scene. Two hours later, after police were through processing the scene in front of 13-year-old Jones’ home, he returned.
It was then he and his girlfriend were arrested. Unfortunately, it is possible that he will walk, as none of the neighbors want to come forward as witnesses.
In the meantime, both are being held at Gary City Jail awaiting charges.
