An active shooter situation has been reported in California at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. A post on the hospital’s Facebook page on Tuesday morning warned of the dangerous and potentially deadly situation.
According to Officer Travis Easter, spokesman for the San Diego police, a report of an active shooter had been received from officials at the hospital, but so far they had not requested police assistance. Nearby schools have been placed on lockdown as a precaution.
The Facebook ominous post advised everyone at the medical center “to run, hide or fight.” All those who are not emergency response staff are being asked to avoid the chaotic scene. According to the medical center’s social media post, the shooter was located in building #26.
Active shooter situations have become a common occurrence over recent years, with nowhere being safe from the threat of such vicious and deadly attacks.
