As the song goes, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” — that time when ammosexuals get to decorate their guns with red ribbons and their Santas with big guns. Because, nothing screams “jolly” or “Merry Christmas” quite like packing heat.
At least that’s the case in North Carolina. Along I-77 in Charlotte, Blackstone Shooting Sports has placed a billboard depicting Santa Claus with “an assault rifle.”
Santa knows what you really want!
Of course, commenters on the Fox News Facebook page agreed. This Santa is exactly what they want, and they don’t see a problem with mixing tools of death with the birthday celebration for the “Prince of Peace” or hijacking Santa’s image as he shoots at targets shaped like human beings.
Nothing screams “peace and love” like looking down the barrel of an AR-15. Right?
Many commenters just lusted over the prospect of having such a “big gun” and of course, citing their Second Amendment right to own one.
Then, there was this woman who seems to think our kids should be taking guns to school for “gun club practice.” And, because they aren’t doing that it’s contributing to the “woosification of this country” which she claims is more disturbing than a classic symbol of generosity and kindness being bastardized with a killing tool.
Sure, because that makes sense.
Oh, and this guy’s brilliant idea. It’s not extreme or anything. . . and I totally feel safe knowing he likely has an arsenal of guns sitting in his family room.
Of course, we couldn’t have this discussion without giving some recognition to the guys that truly believe they can acquire enough weaponry to take down the government should they need to fight off tyranny. Totally a legitimate argument considering our citizens can arm themselves with military grade weapons, drones and nukes. . . oh, wait. . .
As these folks lust over big guns and fantasize about killing “libtards,” gun violence in our country is at epidemic proportions. (Gee, I wonder how that happened?)
Here are just a few statistics from bradycampaign.org.
Over 108,000 (108,476) people in America are shot in murders, assaults, suicides & suicide attempts, unintentional shootings, or by police intervention.
32,514 people die from gun violence
- 11,294 people are murdered
- 19,992 people kill themselves
- 561 people are killed unintentionally
- 414 are killed by police intervention
- 254 die but intent is not known
75,962 people survive gun injuries:
- 55,009 people are injured in an attack
- 3,791 people survive a suicide attempt
- 16,334 people are shot unintentionally
- 827 people are shot by police intervention
Yeah, you’re right ammosexuals, it’s not in poor taste at all to have a classic childhood icon like Santa brandishing a gun. It’s totally cool.
Perhaps there really IS a War on Christmas but it’s certainly not being waged with red cups and common courtesy.
