At least one lawmaker is convinced that the intelligence community has transcripts of conversations between Donald Trump and Russia, and he thinks it is time for these come out.
Speaking with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) said he had reason to believe that intelligence agencies have damning evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia and explained how important it is for this information to be made public.
“It’s important for the outcome of that counterintelligence investigation be fully shared with the intelligence committees both in the House and the Senate,” Coons said. “There are transcripts that provide very helpful, very critical insights into whether or not the Russian intelligence and senior Russian political leaders including Vladimir Putin were cooperating — were colluding — with the Trump campaign at the highest levels to influence the outcome of our election.”
“Let me just clear up very briefly, do such transcripts exist?” Mitchell asked. “Is that what you’re saying?”
“I have not seen them,” the senator responded. “I believe they exist.”
