In a tragic series of events in September of 2014, Fredi Morales was struck and killed by a police car traveling a dark road in pursuit of a speeding ticket. The officer, driving at speeds of 100MPH, drives erratically, crossing lines and swerving several times. He was also driving without using his emergency lights or sirens, a serious breach of protocol.
In a disturbing moment, the officer stops his vehicle completely before engaging with the speeding car. He claims he was trying to get a radar reading on the speeder, but it looks more like he was trying to see how fast he could get to ludicrous speed.
The officer did end up turning on his lights, but not until after he had already taken Fredi Morales’ life. He was placed on a two month “administrative leave” which is police talk for “paid vacation” while the department came up with reasons to exonerate him.
