According to current reports from CNN and other news outlets, there has been a mass shooting at an Oregon community college. In the wake of the shooting, at least 10 are dead and 20 more injured, including one female who was shot in the chest at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.
Details are still sketchy, but reports indicate that the shooter is currently alive and in custody. The college is located in Roseburg, a town of approximately 22,000 located about 70 miles south of Eugene, Oregon. The region is fairly rural, with logging being the dominant industry.
KATU reports that shots were fired at around 10:40 am PDT at Snyder Hall on campus. OregonLive is saying that AFT agents are on the scene, and that 11 victims have been transported to local hospitals, with another on a LifeFlight helicopter and yet another waiting for LifeFlight.
Police are advising people to stay out of the area, even though they believe the situation is now under control.
