Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly’s been on a tear over recent weeks. First, he stated that many African-Americans are “ill-educated” and have tattoos on their foreheads. And now O’Reilly’s taking aim at women.
This week during a “Talking Points” commentary, O’Reilly explained how out of all the topics Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton discussed during Thursday’s Democratic debate in New York City, the main thing he took away was that they both supported abortion with no limitations.
O’Reilly then followed up his commentary with a segment featuring one of Fox News’ resident “Democrats” Kristen Powers. He told Powers:
If you are going to say that the two Democrats running for president both favor pretty much abortion at any time, for any reason, and they hide behind the women’s health issue, but that could be a migraine headache, you know. OK, I don’t want to have the kid, my boyfriend left me, my husband left me, whatever it may be, I got a migraine, kid is going to be born next week.
Even as a well trained Fox News puppet, Powers could not ignore that comment. So she gently scolded O’Reilly saying, “I don’t think that many people get abortions because they have a migraine headache.”
But O’Reilly wasn’t quite done making an ass of himself. He continued:
OK, it doesn’t matter. It’s theoretical. When you have two candidates saying they don’t want any limitations in the law place, they don’t want any. That can happen. And we know what happened in Kansas, Did that big investigation on Tiller You know what happened there. And so that’s so radical and so far away from what the American people want. That’s just one example.
O’Reilly was referring to Dr. George Tiller, who was an abortion doctor in Kansas who provided late-term abortions until 2009 when he was shot to death at his church.
Tiller was investigated by two grand juries summoned by citizen-led petitions and was found not guilty in both cases. However, just like the fake Planned Parenthood tapes, anti-abortion activists still use Tiller as an example of illegal abortion practices. Powers did not bother to correct O’Reilly about that comment.
O’Reilly has had a rough year so far as it concerns the women in his life. In late February, O’Reilly’s divorce took a turn for the worst and he lost custody of his children in a court battle after his daughter testified against him in court. Whether it is his personal life or his conservative ideology is to blame for his anti-woman stance is anyone’s guess.
Here’s a news flash for Bill O’Reilly and those who believe women need to sneak around and deceive physicians to get legal medical services: Women have had the right to decide what happens inside their bodies in all 50 states since 1973.
