Right-wing propaganda mill, Breitbart, has decided that white men are facing extinction in America because their interests are not being protected. With this in mind, one of their employees has started up a scholarship fund that only applies to young white men.
Milo Yiannopoulos has created the Yiannopoulos Privilege Grant, which is a scholarship available only to white men. It’s intended to put them on “equal footing with their female, queer and ethnic minority classmates.”
It’s 2016, and we have what is one of the larger right-wing opinion “news” sites openly advocating for what is literally enhanced Jim Crow that now includes women.
The grant is also described as focusing heavily on the “network” created by students and their mentors, while doing advocacy work and releasing policy and research papers based on the results of the data gathered. What good is being a racist woman-hating jackass if you can’t try to formulate studies supporting how necessary it is. Right?
The grant creator had this to say:
I understand that our focus on white men will strike some people as controversial or even offensive. Good. It’s time to re-examine the facts, because they don’t support the current media narrative that women and ethnic minorities are some kind of oppressed victim class. If there’s a patriarchy, it’s not doing a very good job of protecting male interests, is it? It’s men who need the help now — and we’re going to give it to them.
It really isn’t a stretch to make the assertion that even after the Tea Party and a few years of them hating everybody, this still wouldn’t have happened without the 2016 Republican presidential primary. The sudden “war on political correctness” is a smokescreen for wanting to be a racist, bigot, misogynist or whatever the hell else someone wants to be in order to hate other people.
I am not even going to get into the debate on whether or not white men are at some kind of disadvantage when it comes to succeeding in our society. The mere act of attempting to debate this gives it a slimy film of possible credibility that it doesn’t deserve. The Twitter feed for the program can be found here.
