Anonymous Hijacks KKK Twitter Account After Klan Declares Cyber War (SCREENSHOTS)

The brewing war between the Ku Klux Klan and Anonymous has just taken a new turn. Anonymous announced that they have taken control of the Klan’s official Twitter account, and it seems that they are telling the truth.

Anonymous recently turned their many masked faces to the Klan after the Traditionalist Knights of the KKK threatened to use “lethal force” against those protesting the murder of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.

That threat led the hacktivist group to quite literally remove the hoods from members of the Klan — a development that greatly irritated the hate group. The hacktivists posted photographs of numerous Klan members, all of whom looked strangely naked without their white hoods and nightgowns.

The Klan responded by childishly threatening bloggers who wrote about the “de-hooding” of its members. Tiffany Willis of Liberal America has been inundated with threatening phone calls since she wrote about it.

Fortunately, Anonymous stepped back in and had more fun at the expense of the group of racists. On Sunday, Anonymous posted that they had, indeed, hijacked the KKK’s official Twitter.

The Klan’s profile image was replaced with something extremely more pleasant, and an announcement was posted that it was “under anon control.”

Hilariously, the Klan had spent much of the day taunting the hacker group.

The Ku Klux Klan really should have expected them.

It’s been a terrible week for the KKK. Anonymous released identities of members, took down numerous Klan web sites, and usurped control of the official Twitter.

What will come next? Stay tuned…

You do know that they only wear the robes and hoods to cover up the granny dresses and wigs they wear underneath.

Hammer those klowns, Anon! Rip ’em a new one!

  • Judy Rae Jackson says:

I can’t believe those dipshit Klan members thought they could beat Anonymous, especially in a cyber war.

  • Richard Barnett says:

Cool. Real life crime fighters. I suppose we should all be worried that Anonymous might turn to the dark side but, F IT, if it makes life miserable for the Klan, I’ll assume the risk. I’d love to see the KKK bank account drained.

    • Jordan Knoll says:

They can’t turn to the dark side because it’s just individuals. you act as though they actually have a structure. When you call out “anonymous” you’re literally just calling out everyone who knows how engage in cyber warfare to attack you.

Like literally. If you knew how to hack a twitter account, you could hack someone tomorrow and claim anonymous did it.

My God, I’m loving every twist and turn of this!!

  • Moodyali says:

Keep it up. Outing every last one of their sorry asses would be a great gift to the rest of us.

  • Devin Ens says:

Awesome. Forcing KKK members to reveal their identities is how Jimmy Gardiner drove the Klan out of Saskatchewan (mostly). They are an evil afraid to face the light.

  • lugnut says:

Thanks you anonymous. Where do I go to see their mugs?

  • Pat says:

Someday, I’ll be talking to my kids or grandkids, 10 or 20 years from now. And I’ll tell them about the time a bunch of faceless computer hackers took on a bunch of faceless bigots in a cyber war and hijacked their twitter account (followed by ‘Grandmum, what’s a twitter?’, probably).

  • Omar Spence says:

I hope anonymous drains all their bank accounts, the klan represents pure evil, nothing more.

    • klip a hedge says:

would’nt that be great, then have them DNA tested, compare with any animal rock earth & water & you will see, were all related, more important things to be sorted like dictatorships that breed hate in communities to keep the real issues of how there taxing us into early graves, can’t even die in peace without the worry of payin for it, so the elitist nut jobs can rule over us….

  • TheAlchemist86 says:

So let me get this straight a group that had been deemed a terrorist(1871 by congress) organization is making death threats to american citizens from inside the states. And we are still worried about ISIS, yeah awesome.

    • Asinus says:

But ISIS want’s to kill White people! It’s totally different!

Hey, remember that report from 2008 or 2007 that said that right wing domestic terror was a huge threat to our national security? Remember how Fox, Rush, et al. attacked the report and it was squashed by right wingers in congress because they found it offensive? Yeah… well…

But seriously, why can’t the KKK be treated like a terrorist organization? I mean, it is one.

    • Chakat Firepaw says:

Well, the current KKK isn’t the same organization as the one from the immediate post-Civil War era. What you see these days is the third group to bear the name.

      • TheAlchemist86 says:

Have you been to their website? Other than them being technologically more advanced, they still have the same Philosophy. Doesn’t matter what “generation” they are it doesn’t give them the right(or anyone) to be judge, jury and executioner. Oh btw this is the same clan that aligned themselves with George Wallace.

        • Chakat Firepaw says:

That was more in response to using the 1871 declaration against the current groups. The group that was aimed at ceased to exist in the 19th century.

          • TheAlchemist86 says:

Ya know they never took away that label, so they are still considered right-wing domestic terrorists. No it doesn’t cease to exist. They were still murdering african-americans and civil rights sympathizers well into the 50’s-60’s, ya know the 20th century. And now they threaten to do it again, this time under the false premise that its for the good In the 21st century. Same excuse they have been using since day 1, when they teamed up with southern police forces. How naive are you? Doesn’t matter how long its been, or what generation, they are still a bunch of racist idiots that need to be disbanded. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”

          • Gary Dean Musser Jr says:

right wing? Boy you are misguided. The kkk was started and ran by DEMOCRATS.

          • Chakat Firepaw says:

Yes it was, right up until LBJ ran the Dixiecrats out of the party. A group which was deliberately, and successfully, targeted by Nixon and Goldwater.

          • Becky Messer says:

At this point I’m not sure political alignment (right-wing, left-wing) matters so much - what they’re doing is completely wrong.

          • TheAlchemist86 says:

No it really shouldn’t, I used the word right-wing because that is how the FBI classifies them. If you have an issue with that take it up with the FBI. I’m not misguided, just more informed than you are. And yes the democrats were pro-segregation and more for slaver. But that all changed once Lyndon B Johnson sided with the civil rights and those defected were considered yellow dog democrats.

          • Chakat Firepaw says:

The label was never taken away but it’s a moot point: You can’t use a declaration against the 19th century KKK any more than you can use the fact that someone’s grandfather was sent to prison in order to declare the grandson a felon. That grandpa never got a pardon just means that grandpa is still a felon.

If you want to go after the current KKK as terrorists, go right ahead as it probably wouldn’t be that hard to make the legal argument. Saying that you can’t use a particular line of attack is not the same as saying that none are open.

It is also important to remember that the ‘second era’ KKK wasn’t directly inspired by the original but by its highly fictional portrayal in “The Birth of a Nation”.

          • TheAlchemist86 says:

While I get the grandpa analogy, it doesn’t apply here. Maybe if the “new” klan changed the message then yes. But they haven’t changed the message. If the grandson committed the same crime as the grandpa, then you would say “He’s just like his grandpa, a felon.” The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 1,007 groups as active hate groups in the United States in 2012. Listing the KKK as one. So more recently even this Klan is still a hate group.

          • Chakat Firepaw says:

There is no need to scare quote new, it really is a new group, (well, diverse family of groups), that has taken the same name.

You also clearly didn’t understand the grandfather analogy: Using the 1871 declaration is like using _grandpa’s_ conviction as the reason you are declaring the grandson a felon. This is invalid even if the grandson is a felon in his own right.

You also seem to think that I am in some way saying that the current KKK isn’t a hate group or a group of terrorists. I am not: I am saying that you can’t use a ruling against a group that hasn’t existed since the 1870s as grounds to do anything against a movement that started in the 1950s, even if it has chosen to take the same name and has some of the same goals.

          • TheAlchemist86 says:

No I get the analogy that’s why I’m saying it doesn’t apply it here. I know you really want it to but it doesn’t work. This Klan holds the same values and principles as the first, so now the 1871 label still applies. I’m not sure where I scare quoted? The Shakespeare, I used it since it represents a bigger idea, and I didn’t want to type it all out. Sorry if that was too much, plus its a fitting quote and very nice.

          • Chakat Firepaw says:

The 1871 declaration is against a group _THAT NO LONGER EXISTS_ and has not existed for 140 years. That the modern groups would deserve a similar declaration is neither here nor there. The original KKK disbanded not long after that declaration. The second era KKK doesn’t come into existence until 1915, four decades later, and it had no direct links to the original, (it was named for it but was actually inspired by a movie), and even that no longer exists, (it died in the 30s/40s).

The analogy is to using grandpas conviction, (the 1871 declaration), to define the grandson’s status rather than convicting the grandson on his own actions.

As for your scare quoting, I specifically identified what word you scare quoted, (new), and it has nothing to do with the use of a quote later in your comment.

  • Dave Geek says:

Apples and oranges. The “hatred” towards the Klan is driven by their choice to be bigoted hatemongers who threaten to kill people and who have killed people in the past. Again, they have CHOSEN to follow this belief system. The targets of their hate have NOT chosen to be Black, Asian or Hispanic. Hell, even if you don’t practice a religion like Judaism or Islam it’s enough to get the Klan and their ilk worked up and wanting to kill you.

  • max cady says:

Good job. I´m from Norway and had my first trip to the south in the U.s about 4 months ago. I saw racism up close many times. Here where I am from you never see racism like that. The people who treated me the best and welcomed me over in the south were African Americans. Good work !!!
