White House Tells It Like It Is, Omits ‘News’ From Fox Reporters’ Place Cards (VIDEO)

The White House State Of The Union luncheon is an annual tradition. Each year dignitaries and news personalities are invited to join the President in a pre-speech feast.

This year’s luncheon had a bit of a twist of humor and reality for Fox News reporter propagandist Shepard Smith. According to Smith, he noticed something a little strange about the place cards on the tables:

I sat next to Brian Williams, we all have these place cards, and his said ‘Brian Williams NBC News.’ Across from me was the new guy, David Muir, it said ‘David Muir ABC News.’ Over next to the President was Scott Pelley and it said ‘Scott Pelley ABC News.’ I looked at mine, and it doesn’t say anything about news, it just says ‘Fox.’ And I looked at Bret Baier’s and it just said ‘Bret Baier Fox.’ But all the rest of them got ‘News.’

I mean I don’t care, lunch was great. But, uh, I guess there’s a message received. But…I think Bret and I are good to go with the news part, and I think you know that, too.

He ends with a peace sign.

Yes, Shep, we know you’re good to go with the “news” part. We know you don’t care if it was omitted, because we know that you know that we know that what you offer is nothing that even resembles news.

Apparently the White House staff are on to you as well. Go figure.

Thank you, President Obama and your staff for giving us a little something to smile about before we have to listen to the rhetoric the right is sure to begin spewing shortly after the State Of The Union Address.

Well played.

You have to suffer through a few minutes of Shep “reporting” on the menu before he talks about the place cards in the video, or you can bypass it and fast forward to 5:15.

A little rough on Shep there! He’s the only halfway honest human on Faux Noise.

    • paco

I don’t think anyone is being to rough on this guy…he CHOSES to work for FOX and engages in the misinformation they report. If he is a “halfway honest human”, his conscience should compel him to leave the network. He is in collusion with the network and that speaks volumes about his ethics.

      • Clarence LeBlanc

I’m sure if someone offered remotely the same dough to work for an actual news channel he would take it.

        • rayb_baby

I don’t know about “sure”, but I would like to think so.

        • paco

…and now we are back to his ethics.

          • rayb_baby

Then why don’t YOU discuss his ethics? I think he’s the only Faux Noise host that has some. How about your ethics, or do you just want to totally bash him?

          • paco

Look…I don’t get off on bashing people unless it is warranted. You keep calling it “Faux Noise”, so why do you support this guy? Any NORMAL person who feels FOX is “Faux Noise” should be incensed that anyone associate with a News organization that disseminates inaccurate news needs to hold ALL involved accountable for compromised ethics. As for me…my ethics are just fine or I wouldn’t be commenting on how bad theirs are. Also, take a look around this page…ur opinions are tragically in the minority. As for your attitude towards me…who is bashing who?

          • rayb_baby

So, I suppose you put Juan Williams and Alan Colmes in the same lack of ethics boat as other Faux Noise commentators. They get checks from Faux, too.
It seems like you have NO balance to your perspective; Black or white, up or down, good or bad! I start my assessments from the middle and work my way out from there.
In general, I despise Faux as much as you, but I also know that not EVERYTHING they tell is a lie and not everyone on there is the same.
Also, the fact that I have, as of this comment, 40 to your 54 ups on a blog site like this, means that I’m not “TRAGICALLY in the minority” with my opinion

          • paco

            try adding 54 to 43…

          • rayb_baby

On a left leaning website like this, a tragic minority would have been more like 54 to 3, or don’t you get that?

        • AF Sarge

What a shame we will never know. None of the other channels are smart enough to hire him. He might go to the BBC or one of the other English speaking channels. I have always wondered if Fox News is right wing propaganda why is it number 1. We have more liberals or Mr. Obama wouldn’t be President so why isn’t CNN or NBC or ABC or my favorite MSLSD sorry MSNBC number 1, none are even a close second.Could it be that Fox is actually fair and balanced. I don’t want to hear about Megyn Kelly or Bill O’Reilly they are commentators not news reporters any more Keith Olbermann or Al Sharpton. There was a time when CNN was all news. MSNBC doesn’t even pretend to deliver news they are truly the Radical Left’s Voice. I listen to CNN, CBS, ABC, and Fox News so I have to believe I am not brainwashed. You can disagree but I doubt you will be fair and balanced.

          • paco

Try listening to NPR…btw, people are on here relaying their opinions just like everyone else and just because those opinions differ from urs doesn’t mean that we are not fair and balanced people. So…ALL the other media outlets on TV are just stupid and part of a vast conspiracy of liberalism. That’s insane. However, I do find YOUR remarks rather typical of someone who obviously leans to the right…which is absolutely ur prerogative….and ur correct…I don’t agree with you. And about FOX being #1…chew on this. This country is pretty evenly split between conservatives and liberals. Conservative’s have ONE news channel that caters to those of you with conservative beliefs, why aren’t there more? So is it any wonder FOX is #1 when you consider that. Perhaps If we added up all the other news stations who do believe in the ethics of journalism, the numbers would be drastically different. Meanwhile, the real news is being broadcast on a variety of other stations. Why do you think that is? You may not be brainwashed but your comments lead me to believe u are easily manipulated by something that looks like news…but isn’t.

        SAID AMEN To That paco

      • Beaugrand_RTMC

        “chooses,” or “chose.”

        Not “choses.”

        • paco

I’m not here for spelling lessons…

    • walthe310

      I agree

  • Darren Stevens

Scott Pelley is the face of the CBS news organization, not ABC. THAT’s why he didn’t get “news” after Fox-because he isn’t.

    • Pennsylvanianne

Shep can’t get Pelley’s affiliation right, but the White House got Fox’s name absolutely correct, which is more than Fox talking heads can get about anything.

  • paco

Shepard…u are a bit delusional if you think FOX presents the news. It is widely know by most intellects that what you call “news” is nothing more than a right wing outlet for disinformation. Snap out of it…you know this is true and your support of this outrageous hi-jacking of the real news should fill you with shame. You are entitled to your own opinion…but not to your own facts. You and your contemporaries at FOX are a disgrace to journalism.

    • GOLDSPIRAL

Substitute your rant with MSNBC AND I agree

      • paco

i don’t watch MSNBS so I have nothing to offer on that.

  • Justin Brown

HA!Too good..Tell them”when you actually report news you can have the news back on your place card”,then whack them in the nose with a rolled up NEWSpaper!

    • http://www.facebook.com//ladysavanteajreign Savante Artemis-Adonis Robello

      LOL TOO TRUE Justin Brown

  • lauralth

To be fair, sometimes Shep does get it right on there.

    • rayb_baby

Even Megan Kelly gets it right ……… once in a while. Of course, then there’s KKKlannity, whose vile, lying rants outweigh anything positive you MIGHT hear on Faux Noise.

      • paco

Megan Kelly still believes in Santa Clause…and she’s sure he’s white.

  • joe ebbitt

Nice touch, the omission speaks volumes.

    • http://www.facebook.com//ladysavanteajreign Savante Artemis-Adonis Robello

VOLUMES MORE WORTHY Sentiments of REAL TRUTH, REAL NEWS & REAL INTELLIGENCE. that’s for damn sure Joe Ebbitt

  • KCP

I guess they should consider themselves lucky that the cards did not say Fox Snooze.

  • Doc Bruce

    Truth in place cards.

  • Cpt_Justice

Yeah, it doesn’t say anything about “news” because NEITHER DO YOU guys (for the most part).

  • Ron Rankin

should have said fox the republican channel

  • onowhere

I can’t figure out why “Fox” was invited in the first place. It’s an entertainment network. News?? Bwahhahahahahahahah!

  • Tony Thompson

Oh, poor FOX News. The only people who take them seriously are the anti-reality crowd. Which, sadly, still has far too many members.

  • GOLDSPIRAL

This White House is the most PETTY WH of all time.

    • paco

hmmm…and changing the name of french fries to “freedom” fries isn’t petty?

      • maron

        It’s patriotic.

        • paco

          it’s petty…wasn’t that the topic?

          • maron

I wasn’t the first to name call in case you didn’t figure out what replacing the a in my name with an o meant. I’m not sure why someone needs to resort to that, but I’m happy to give it back to rayb baby. I’m not at all angry; but I don’t understand why people have to be so nasty.

          • rayb_baby

“white house twerps” That was you name calling.

        • rayb_baby

I think you misspelled your tag name. Shouldn’t that ‘a’ be an ‘o’?

          • maron

I haven’t tried to insult anyone here, butt if you’re going to be an asshole, I’d be happy to call you one.

          • paco

don’t bother…anyone who resorts to name calling KNOWS they have lost the debate.

          • paco

u know what…ur an angry person looking for something to argue about at this point. u should have quit about 6 posts ago and I’m not going to entertain your opinions any more. Try to have a nice life.

  • GOLDSPIRAL

What a small small and petty minded WH this admin displays..all the time.

  • Dennis Walker

As their reportage is not news, it seems odd that they would be invited to lunch with news people and the President.

  • maron

Jealous of the audience Fox NEWS has and its ratings? Don’t we have enough soft liberal reporters kissing Obama’s ass instead of ferreting out true news and scandals? Sorry you white house twerps can’t grow up and report news without making fun of others’.

    • karensc

You don’t have anyone who actually reports news. I saw a few minutes of Fox this morning when I stopped at a fast food restaurant to grab some coffee. In two minutes I saw them tell two lies. How’s that for ya?

      • maron

The truth is usually somewhere in between the liberal slant and the conservative slant. Listen to both, try to be unbiased, go to the middle, and that’s probably the truth. You don’t think they “lie” on MSNBC or CNN?

        • Dalek

CNN may not be unbiased, but Fox just makes stuff up. They’re not simply biased, they lie.

  • lisaherzog

I thought Scott Pelley was from CBS News.

    • paco

      He is
