Apparently, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton once again managed to hurt Donald Trump’s feelings with some not so “nice” ads featuring military veterans talking about some of the despicable things Trump has said about them.
In fact, Trump’s fragile sensibilities were so frazzled that the billionaire once again threatened to sue somebody over a factual ad about him.
“I saw today — I left the room and I saw a commercial where it was really a nasty commercial, totally made up about me with vets. There is nobody that loves the vets more or respects the vets more,” Trump said. “They’re spending hundreds of millions of dollars on false commercials and it’s a disgrace. So what we’ll do — I guess we’ll sue them. Let’s sue them. Right? Let’s sue them.”
Trump never specifies what which ad he was referring to, nor did his campaign respond to media requests for more details.
However, the Clinton campaign did recently launch a series of ads entitled “Sacrifice,” featuring military vets watching Trump make offensive remarks about veterans and the Armed Forces. One ad featured this gem about Arizona GOP Senator John McCain who suffered excruciating torture for several years when he was a Prisoner Of War (POW) in Vietnam.
“‘He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, OK?’ Trump said of McCain.”
Trump who had been a star athlete throughout high school, was mysteriously ruled medically unfit to serve in Vietnam, much to the disappointment of his billionaire father.
Another ad featured vets watching Trump trashing McCain as well as his attacks on the Gold Star family of fallen war hero U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan who was killed in Iraq while defending his men against a car bomb.
More recently Trump has made comments, inferring that soldiers with PTSD who can’t cope with their illness are somehow weak because “they can’t handle it,” unlike those who are “strong.”
“‘When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat and they see things that maybe a lot of folks in this room have seen many times over and you’re strong and you can handle it but a lot of people can’t handle it. They see horror stories, they see events you couldn’t see in a movie, nobody would believe it, “Trump said during a panel interview at the Retired American Warriors PAC in Herndon, Virginia.
Time and time again Donald Trump proves that his capacity to denigrate any and every group in American society knows no limits or depths.
