President Obama has obviously had it with the ridiculous rhetoric of the right. In a press conference from Africa, the president called out Mike Huckabee, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz and the entire Republican leadership for their dangerous and unprecedented interference with a deal that is, as he puts it, “a matter of war and peace.”
The president said that Mike Huckabee’s remarks about the deal would be “sad if they weren’t so ridiculous.” He lamented the fact that we have sitting senators lying to the American people and calling him, our president, the “largest state sponsor of terrorism.”
Yes, he’s fed up, and he should be. We get it, Republicans. There’s a black man in the White House, and you’re not happy about it. We understand you’re upset that he’s managed to do right by the American people while you sit back and use us as pawns in your healthcare games and consider us collateral damage, but this is foreign policy regarding the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
There should be a rule that if you publicly deny accepted science like climate change and evolution, you’re definitely not allowed to determine who can and can’t split an atom.
