The only good thing that came from the Dubyah administration were the impressions. Bush’s simple vocabulary and easily imitated drawl combined with his middle school sentence structure made him a perfect target for comedians. The absolute best came from Will Ferrell, whose Dubyah was so convincing you almost wanted to kick your TV when you saw it.
He nails not only the Dubyah voice, complete with idiotic inflections and that bizarre cackle of a laugh, but the facial expressions as well. When Ferrell took the podium and became George W Bush, America finally had a reason to be happy the Supreme Court appointed him president.
Ferrell was back at it on this week’s episode, donning the salt and pepper hair and imbecilic smirk of Dubyah for SNL’s cold opening. He announced he’s running for President and in what may be his best Dubyah ever, rips the entire GOP field to shreds.
