The Values Voter Summit is happening this weekend, which means that we’ll have lots of soundbites of Republicans showing their most hateful side to the ultra conservative Christians.
The summit is a must-attend for Presidential candidates, even for those who have no family values, either conservative or liberal, like Donald Trump.
Trump, though, did a very poor job of reading his crowd when he used his 2nd grade insult schtick on fellow candidate, Marco Rubio.
“You have this clown, Marco Rubio,” Trump said to strong boos. “I’ve been so nice to him.”
“He’s in favor of immigration, he has been,” Trump added, criticizing Rubio for being in the “Gang of Eight.”

He continued his badgering in the hallway, saying:
I mean the guy doesn’t show up. He’s got the worst record in the entire United States Senate. And he’s obviously not a very hard worker. You know, when you get elected as a senator you have to show up and you have to be there and you have to vote and Rubio doesn’t vote.
When Trump issues an insult, it means someone is a threat and Rubio — with his calm (albeit thirsty) demeanor and relatively moderate (compared to others in the current party) stances — is gently nudging his poll numbers in the race. Judging from the reaction of the Values Voters, he does have his fans.
