On Tuesday, Late Show host Stephen Colbert decided to help his audience understand Donald Trump’s confusing reaction to the Orlando shooting, by drawing a very detailed and insightful diagram.
Colbert’s skit was a response to a speech Trump made on Monday, in which he criticized President Obama’s response to the massacre at the Orlando LGBT Pulse nightclub in which gunman, Omar Mateen, killed 49 innocent people before being killed in a shootout with law enforcement.
Trump said of the president:
We’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind… There is something going on.
When given a chance later to “clarify” his statements on the Howie Carr radio show, Trump said:
Well you know, I’ll let people figure that out for themselves Howie. Because, to be honest with you, there certainly doesn’t seem to be a lot of anger or passion…There was certainly not a lot of anger so, you know, I’ll let that, we’ll let people figure it out.
Colbert stated that he considered himself a “people” who could figure it out, and sauntered over to a chalkboard where he declared that he was drawing a “Figure-it-out-Atron” to help understand what Trump was trying to communicate.
On the board, Colbert wrote: Muslim, Bad Thing, Not Smart, Radical Islam, Something Going On, Inconceivable, Obama, Trump in a clockwise configuration while drawing intercepting the lines to connect the different clues.
When he was finished, Colbert inexplicably wound up drawing a swastika after connecting Trump’s logic in diagram form. (Diagram starts around the 5 minute mark.)
His sketch garnered a tremendous response from the anti-Trump crowd on Twitter.
Colbert just basically called Trump a Nazi and an asshole on CBS, with a swastika and the word “asshole.”

It’s good to see that Trump’s racism, xenophobia, bigotry, and ignorance can be easily charted if one simply stops taking their medication and put all the clues together.
Hopefully, America won’t have four years of figuring out Trump’s little puzzles.
