WATCH: Republicans Ridicule GOP Benghazi Committee Members, Say Hillary ‘Too Smart’ For Them (VIDEO)

That has to sting a little. Republicans are coming out in a bit of rage with the conclusion of the latest Benghazi clown show, but surprisingly they are not coming out about Hillary.

Conservative commenters everywhere are actually saying Hillary did well, and Republicans looked like a bunch of bratty children. Who would have expected it, right?

John Podhortez, a very well established Conservative commentator for the New York Post, had this to say:

Simply as a matter of political theater, over the course of many hours of testimony, Clinton performed brilliantly. She assumed a calm, deliberate demeanor with her opening statement and never surrendered it. The more she sounded like a policy wonk, the less she seemed like what the Republicans clearly wanted her to seem like: a cynical political animal.

When an absolute trash rag like the NY Post abandons you, as a Republican, you are pretty much screwed. But wait, there is more.

Former GOP Congressman and professional Republican apologist Joe Scarborough said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” it was a “technical knockout” for Hillary, with friend of the show Mike Barnicle adding in “If this committee had handled the Watergate hearing, Richard Nixon would have finished his term.”

Just wait, it gets even worse. Ultra-Conservative Republican troll Erick Erickson called the whole thing a “waste of time” while adding in that Hillary was “too bright” for them:

The hearings are a waste of time because everything about it is politicized and nothing is going to happen. There will be no scalp collection. In fact, it is clear from today’s hearing that Trey Gowdy and Peter Roskam seem to be the only two people on the committee of either party who are capable of asking exacting, precise questions. Most of the rest of the committee just wants to grandstand for the folks back home as either prosecutors of or defenders of Hillary Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton too is far too bright to be trapped in this or any questions. There have been some, by Trey Gowdy typically, that have clearly caused Mrs. Clinton to be flustered, but the long term effects of that will be to make her a martyr to her own side.

Erick Erickson has a history of not caring about reality, or facts, in the sewer gas he vents as political opinion but even he can’t deny this was probably the moment that Benghazi died. He continued to mock Republican Reps. Susan Brooks (R-IN), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Mike Pompeo (R-KS), Martha Roby (R-AL), and Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), by classifying them as “a carnival road show of back bench congresscritters playing to the cameras.”

It will be interesting to see if Trey Gowdy, as the head ringmaster of this circus, will still have a career of any note with the spectacular failure this turned into.
