Surprise, surprise. Jeb Bush told Fox News Actress Megyn Kelly that he would invade Iraq, even though the intelligence used to sell that bogus war was flawed.
Jeb used the segment of The Kelly File not to distance himself from the mistakes of his brother, but to embrace them and put them off on everybody else. Kelly asked him very bluntly:
Knowing what we know now, would you still have authorized the invasion?
Jeb responded quickly and most likely without thinking, a longstanding Bush trait:
I would have, and so would have Hillary Clinton, just to remind everybody.
No, Jeb. Hillary Clinton has said she was mistaken in voting for the war, given what we know now.
Jeb went on to defend his brother, saying that the mistakes in Iraq had to do with “security issues,” and not with going in the first place. He trotted on down the road of deceit, again blaming faulty intelligence and ignoring that there was just as much information, if not more, that it was in fact faulty.
Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld chose to ignore that, because they were going to Iraq no matter what.
No matter what.
They purposely used what they knew was faulty intelligence to sell the war to congress, the American people and the world. For Jeb to continue that legacy while making a run for the office his brother so completely failed at proves just what we would be in store for.
More war. More deregulation. More lies. More Bush. More of the things America just can’t afford.
Watch Jeb Bush admit the war in Iraq was a mistake, one that he would make again if given the chance.
