In what is the first and might end up being the best one-liner of the still fledgling 2016 election, a 19-year-old college student named Ivy Ziedrich confronted Jeb Bush by saying:
Your brother created ISIS.
The statement was undoubtedly a response to when, in a Fox News interview, Bush defended his brother’s invasion of Iraq and said he would do the same thing. He has since backed off, but let’s just say his original statement still lingers, and to be frank, his road to backing off has been a little bumpy.
Jon Stewart was having none of Bush’s wishy-washy, first he supports, then he sort of supports, then he doesn’t support his brother at all, type of rhetoric.
Bush’s response to all of this is that it isn’t a big deal because he’s not even running yet. The reason he’s not running? Because the very few campaign laws that the Supreme Court hasn’t yet overturned only apply after he runs. In other words, he wants to be able to raise unlimited funds and be able to coordinate with his super PAC.
