Geraldo Rivera gave Fox News a dose of reality on Fox and Friends this week when he slammed the hosts and the network for backing Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing extremist approach to the Palestinians.
If I were President Obama, I would have sent Bibi Netanyahu a congratulatory postcard by snail mail on a form written, ‘Congratulations on your recent election.’ It is the appropriate thing to do to someone who has absolutely insulted the American constitutional system by coming here uninvited.
Geraldo wasn’t going to allow the Fox actors to rain on his parade, either. Every time they tried to interrupt him to interject their pro-Netanyahu, anti-Obama agenda, Geraldo put them in their place:
We can debate who and how that invitation was engineered, but it caused a division in the U.S.-Israeli relationship that has never existed before.
For someone who more often than not opens his mouth only to insert his own foot, Geraldo proved he can still have a coherent thought.
