Donald Trump is a lot of things, but introspective is a word that’s rarely uttered when it comes to describing the presidential candidate.
Since the last GOP debate, Trump has seen his poll numbers fall to the point where he’s now virtually tied with Ben Carson. He admits his numbers are falling.
In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Trump began in full Trump style, by insulting nearly all of his competitors. He then pivoted a bit and admitted that his rhetoric is “probably a little childish,” but that doesn’t mean he’s going to change anything soon. In fact, he blames the victims.
“I’m responding to them. I’m a counter-puncher,” Trump said. “For instance, (Gov. Scott) Walker was very nice to me. All of a sudden, he hit me and I hit him back. All of these guys. (Sen. Marco) Rubio was very nice to me, couldn’t have been nicer. All of a sudden a week ago he started hitting me.”

So much for the hope that Trump can actually be humble.
